The Spring 2006 position round is now history, and and the championship will be on us before we know it! The eighth week saw one team climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Three bowlers set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Freda Schroeder landed this week's high game for the women with a 156, and women's high series was bagged by Andrea Wilson with a 425. As for the men, Ken M. Wilson earned this week's high game (299) and series (675). Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 21 & 22: I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! kept grabbing the balls of Split Happens. Despite being led by Seth Gunderson with his above-average 556 series, the Belt accomplished only 1 win against Split Happens. Conversely, James Long commanded Split Happens with his phenomenal 630 as his team took the series with 3 wins. I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! remains in 1st place, while Split Happens remain in 2nd.
On lanes 23 & 24: Bowl Movement had a delightful time with Sweeter Than Yoohoo. Demonstrating the prowess of Ken M. Wilson with his breathtaking 675 series, Bowl Movement collected 3 wins against Yoohoo. Countering this, Stefan Miller called the shots for Yoohoo with his stupendous 573 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowl Movement remains in 3rd place, while Yoohoo sinks 1 spot to 5th.
On lanes 25 & 26: Yo Mama faced off against Bora Bora. While headlined by Andy Metzler with his 538 series, Yo Mama got swept by Bora Bora. Meanwhile, trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) John Richardson guided Bora Bora with his outstanding 647 as they swept the competition. Yo Mama drops 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while Bora Bora jumps 2 spots to 4th.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Tatonka chucked gutter balls with Guttersluts. Topped by Will Jeter with his 426 series, Tatonka split the series with Guttersluts. While that was going down, Travis Kleiner dominated Guttersluts with his 356 as they matched their opponent in wins. Tatonka remains in 7th place, while Guttersluts remain in 8th.

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1 (though Ken M. Wilson came closest), while Stefan Miller shut down Division 2. Nobody claimed victory in Division 3 (though Freda Schroeder came closest), and Andrea Wilson triumphed over her enemies in Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about this bracket as it was a complete embarassment. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz tops Division 1; David Codding leads Division 2; Tim Segraves is in the driver's seat in Division 3; and Ryan Doll reigns over Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 21&22, 1st-place I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! will test their mettle against 8th-place Guttersluts (hcp 251). The Belt is expected to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while Guttersluts are forecast to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Moving to lanes 23&24, 5th-place Sweeter Than Yoohoo will spend some quality time with 4th-place Bora Bora (hcp 44). Yoohoo might roll a little low and get swept; while Bora Bora ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
- Then, over on lanes 25&26, 7th-place Tatonka (hcp 31) will chill with 2nd-place Split Happens. Tatonka will likely roll decently, yet still manage to just barely miss getting swept; while Split Happens will probably hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 3rd-place Bowl Movement will battle 6th-place Yo Mama (hcp 200). Bowl Movement is predicted to perform well and win the series; while Yo Mama is anticipated to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
