The Spring 2006 season is now underway, with eight teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (173) and series (501) for the women. As for the men, Ken M. Wilson snagged this week's high game with a 226, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 620. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 21 & 22: Bowl Movement tussled with Yo Mama. Featuring #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Carl Goetz and his 620 series, Bowl Movement collected 3 wins against Yo Mama. As for the opposition, Andy Metzler guided Yo Mama with his 471 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowl Movement gets underway in 2nd place, while Yo Mama starts off with 6th.

On lanes 23 & 24: Tatonka had some one-on-one time with Split Happens. In spite of top-billing by Andy McLeod with his dazzling 461 series, Tatonka accomplished only 1 win against Split Happens. On the adjacent lane, James Long ruled Split Happens with his 519 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Amy Logan) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Tatonka begins with 7th place, while Split Happens begin in 3rd.

On lanes 25 & 26: I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! had a delightful time with Guttersluts. Headlined by Pat Searcy with his 524 series, the Belt celebrated a clean sweep over Guttersluts. Conversely, Erin deVries shined in Guttersluts with her 301 despite her team getting swept. I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! starts out in 1st place, while Guttersluts get going with 8th.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Sweeter Than Yoohoo kept stealing sips of beer from Bora Bora. Topped by Thomas Lin with his 518 series, Yoohoo split the series with Bora Bora. Countering this, Dennis Laube drew the spotlight in Bora Bora with his 588 as they matched their opponent in wins. Sweeter Than Yoohoo begins the season in 5th place, while Bora Bora gets rolling in 4th.

The Tournament of Champions begins in 3 weeks. Here are how the divisions are shaping up so far:

• First, on lanes 21&22, 8th-place Guttersluts (estimated hcp 272) will battle 4th-place Bora Bora. Guttersluts are expected to stunning and win the series; while Bora Bora is forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
• Moving to lanes 23&24, 1st-place I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! will match wits with 5th-place Sweeter Than Yoohoo (estimated hcp 71). The Belt might maintain their current strength as they and split the series with Yoohoo; while Yoohoo ought to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
• Then, over on lanes 25&26, 6th-place Yo Mama (estimated hcp 101) will roll against 3rd-place Split Happens. Yo Mama will likely dazzling and sweep the series; while Split Happens will probably raise their average even as they endure a rough night.
