The fifteenth week of Fall 2005 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (189) and series (513) for the women. As for the men, Demond Robinson snagged this week's high game with a 246, and high series was earned by John Richardson with a 630. Meanwhile, Tournament of Champions is officially down to its final eight bowlers, who will face each other next week competing for two cash prizes! Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 21 & 22: Harry Potter and the Magic Balls took turns kicking the ball return with Three Men and a Babe. Despite the strength of Andy Metzler with his above-average 506 series, Harry Potter accomplished only 1 win against Three Men and a Babe. On the other side, David Codding ruled Three Men and a Babe with his 584 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Harry Potter and the Magic Balls remains in 7th place, while Three Men and a Babe moves 1 spot to 4th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Tatonka spent some quality time with The Big LeBowlskies. Blessed by Will Jeter with his above-average 490 series, Tatonka collected 3 wins against The Big LeBowlskies. As for the opposition, Michael Basham took the lead in The Big LeBowlskies with his 492 despite his team notching only a single win. Tatonka drops 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while The Big LeBowlskies remain in 6th.
On lanes 25 & 26: Derka, Derka celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with Same Belt, New Notch. Though featuring Rich DeYoung with his 529 series, Derka, Derka accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. In the meantime, Demond Robinson reigned supreme in the Belt with his phenomenal 614 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Scott Murdock) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Derka, Derka drops 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while the Belt remains in 1st.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Bora Bora! alternated between bowling and dry humping Munson'd. Topped by #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head John Richardson and his stunning 630 series, Bora Bora! celebrated a clean sweep over Munson'd. On the adjacent lane, Thomas Fowler called the shots for Munson'd with his (either injured, sick, or sandbagging) 218 despite his team getting swept. Bora Bora! leaps 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while Munson'd remains in 8th.
Bowlers lounging at The 200 Club include: David Codding (212,201), Demond Robinson (246,208), John Richardson (224,221), Michael Basham (203), and Phil Schroeder (204)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Rich DeYoung crushed Division 1, while Scott Murdock made quick work of Division 2. Phil Schroeder spanked Division 3, and Andy McLeod swept Division 4. Congratulations to our division champions! The following eight people will compete next week for the big prize!
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 21&22, 1st-place Same Belt, New Notch will battle 2nd-place Bora Bora! (hcp 88). The Belt is expected to see their averages fall off a cliff as they get swept; while Bora Bora! is forecast to see their team average take a dive even though they rack up a sweep.
- Moving to lanes 23&24, 3rd-place Tatonka (hcp 104) will socialize with 4th-place Three Men and a Babe. Tatonka might perform weakly, yet still manage to sweep the series; while Three Men and a Babe ought to see their team average take a dive while they endure a rough night.
- Then, over on lanes 25&26, 5th-place Derka, Derka will spend some quality time with 6th-place The Big LeBowlskies (hcp 2). Derka, Derka will likely see a pretty significant "market correction" to their averages, yet still manage to sweep the series; while The Big LeBowlskies will probably see their team average take a dive while they endure a rough night.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 7th-place Harry Potter and the Magic Balls will test their mettle against 8th-place Munson'd (hcp 53). Harry Potter is predicted to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while Munson'd is anticipated to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)

FROM THE GUTTER (GUTTER QUOTE)
"I didn't blame anyone for the loss of my legs. Some Chinaman took them from me in Korea."
Andy Metzler, always with an excuse for a crappy game.
