The fifteenth week of Fall 2005 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (189) and series (513) for the women. As for the men, Demond Robinson snagged this week's high game with a 246, and high series was earned by John Richardson with a 630. Meanwhile, Tournament of Champions is officially down to its final eight bowlers, who will face each other next week competing for two cash prizes! Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 21 & 22: Harry Potter and the Magic Balls shared a few beers with Three Men and a Babe. In spite of the prowess of Andy Metzler with his above-average 506 series, Harry Potter accomplished only 1 win against Three Men and a Babe. On the flipside, David Codding reigned supreme in Three Men and a Babe with his 584 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Harry Potter and the Magic Balls remains in 7th place, while Three Men and a Babe moves 1 spot to 4th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Tatonka kept stealing sips of beer from The Big LeBowlskies. Reinforced by Will Jeter with his above-average 490 series, Tatonka collected 3 wins against The Big LeBowlskies. Meanwhile, Michael Basham laid down the law in The Big LeBowlskies with his 492 despite his team notching only a single win. Tatonka drops 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while The Big LeBowlskies remain in 6th.
On lanes 25 & 26: Derka, Derka kept grabbing the balls of Same Belt, New Notch. Despite the strength of Rich DeYoung with his 529 series, Derka, Derka accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. As for the opposition, Demond Robinson mastered the Belt with his marvelous 614 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Scott Murdock) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Derka, Derka drops 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while the Belt remains in 1st.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Bora Bora! tussled with Munson'd. Featuring #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head John Richardson and his breathtaking 630 series, Bora Bora! celebrated a clean sweep over Munson'd. While that was going down, Thomas Fowler dominated Munson'd with his (either injured, sick, or sandbagging) 218 despite his team getting swept. Bora Bora! leaps 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while Munson'd remains in 8th.
Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: David Codding (212,201), Demond Robinson (246,208), John Richardson (224,221), Michael Basham (203), and Phil Schroeder (204)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Rich DeYoung decimated Division 1, while Scott Murdock swept Division 2. Phil Schroeder topped Division 3, and Andy McLeod vanquished Division 4. NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 21&22, 1st-place Same Belt, New Notch will chill with 2nd-place Bora Bora! (hcp 88). The Belt is expected to drop their averages like a brick as they get swept; while Bora Bora! is forecast to see their team average take a dive even though they rack up a sweep.
- Moving to lanes 23&24, 3rd-place Tatonka (hcp 104) will spend some quality time with 4th-place Three Men and a Babe. Tatonka might see their averages fall off a cliff, yet still manage to sweep the series; while Three Men and a Babe ought to see their team average take a dive while they endure a rough night.
- Then, over on lanes 25&26, 5th-place Derka, Derka will tussle with 6th-place The Big LeBowlskies (hcp 2). Derka, Derka will likely see a pretty significant "market correction" to their averages, yet still manage to sweep the series; while The Big LeBowlskies will probably see their team average take a dive while they endure a rough night.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 7th-place Harry Potter and the Magic Balls will battle 8th-place Munson'd (hcp 53). Harry Potter is predicted to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while Munson'd is anticipated to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
