The sixth week of Spring 2005 saw three teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (196) and series (488) for the women. As for the men, Dennis Laube snagged this week's high game with a 201, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz and Corey Weinfurt, who tied with a 533. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Nellielocks and the 3 Spares tussled with 4 Play. Highlighting the skills of Dennis Laube with his 521 series, Nellielocks split the series with 4 Play. While that was going down, Bob Brunker laid down the law in 4 Play with his 522 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Angela Bradford) as they matched their opponent in wins. Nellielocks and the 3 Spares plummet 2 spots in the standings to 5th place, while 4 Play remains in 1st.
On lanes 21 & 22: Big Pin Pin shared a platter of cheese sticks with Handicrappers. In spite of top-billing by Mitch Wheeler with his 475 series, Pin Pin got swept by Handicrappers. Countering this, Ashley Razak dominated Handicrappers with her exceptional 395 as they swept the competition. Big Pin Pin drops 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while Handicrappers move 1 spot to 3rd.
On lanes 23 & 24: Bowlingstar Galactica had some one-on-one time with All Belt, No Buckle. Despite being led by #1 Power-Ranked Corey Weinfurt and his above-average 533 series, the Galactica managed only 1.5 wins against the Belt. Across the ball return, #1 Head-to-Head Seth Gunderson shined in the Belt with his above-average 512 as his team took the series with 2.5 wins. Bowlingstar Galactica leaps 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while the Belt remains in 2nd.
Finally, down on lanes 25 & 26: The Incredibowls traded lane malfunctions with Sub Parre. Despite the strength of Carl Goetz with his 533 series, The Incredibowls accomplished only 1 win against Sub Parre. On the other half of the score sheet, Andy Metzler called the shots for Sub Parre with his above-average 455 as his team took the series with 3 wins. The Incredibowls remains in 8th place, while Sub Parre moves 1 spot to 4th.

A new personal high game was set tonight by Kris Hiestand (175, previous best 153). Adding to the excitement, the 196 rolled by Angela Bradford is this season's new high game among women.
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz spanked Division 1, while Michael Basham clobbered Division 2. Freda Schroeder claimed victory in Division 3, and Andrea Wilson dominated Division 4. In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy, Jason Carpio, Bob Brunker, and Carl Goetz lead Division 1 in a tie; Michael Basham is in the driver's seat in Division 2; Brad Zollars dominates Division 3; and Amanda Schulte governs Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 6th-place Bowlingstar Galactica will share a couple of pitchers with 4th-place Sub Parre (hcp 95). The Galactica is expected to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Sub Parre is forecast to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 8th-place The Incredibowls (hcp 34) will hang out with 2nd-place All Belt, No Buckle. The Incredibowls might perform well, but split the series with the Belt; while the Belt ought to raise their average while they keep the series tied.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 7th-place Big Pin Pin (hcp 60) will face 5th-place Nellielocks and the 3 Spares. Pin Pin will likely maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Nellielocks will probably raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
- Finally, on lanes 25&26, 1st-place 4 Play will challenge 3rd-place Handicrappers (hcp 130). 4 Play is predicted to roll a little low, yet still manage to win the series; while Handicrappers are anticipated to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
