We are now halfway through the Fall 2007 season, so time is running out for those teams who want a shot at the championship to position themselves. The eighth week saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Two bowlers set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Janelle (Laube) Lamar landed this week's high game for the women with a 135, and women's high series was bagged by Jennifer Seefeldt with a 377. As for the men, Don Glasscock earned this week's high game (277) and series (691). Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Bad Newz Kennels spent some quality time with Your Mom. Featuring Carl Goetz with his below-average 487 series, the Kennels celebrated a clean sweep over Your Mom. Meanwhile, Ryan Doll dominated Your Mom with his below-average 476 despite his team getting swept. Bad Newz Kennels remains in 3rd place, while Your Mom remains in 9th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Split Happens faced off against Seefeldt the Glasscock. Led by Most Valuable Bowler Nick Allegri and his above-average 524 series, Split Happens collected 3 wins against the Glasscock. On the other side, Don Glasscock reigned supreme in the Glasscock with his 691 despite his team notching only a single win. Split Happens leap 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while the Glasscock sinks 1 spot to 2nd.
On lanes 23 & 24: Ebowla had a delightful time with Dios Mios. Regardless of the star power of Tom Finley with his powerful 420 series, Ebowla got swept by Dios Mios. On the adjacent lane, #1 Power-Ranked Kris Hiestand called the shots for Dios Mios with his dramatic 568 as they swept the competition. Ebowla drops 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while Dios Mios move 1 spot to 1st.
On lanes 25 & 26: Seriously Handicapped deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of Cannonbelt Run. Although blessed by Tyler Hilker with his splendid 563 series, the Handicapped accomplished only 1 win against Cannonbelt. As for the opposition, Seth Gunderson commanded Cannonbelt with his below-average 476 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Seriously Handicapped remains in 10th place, while Cannonbelt remains in 4th.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: The GameCox shared a few beers with Sh!t, I Don't Know. Notwithstanding the leadership of Jason Carpio with his below-average 475 series, the GameCox got swept by I Don't Know. On the flipside, #1 Head-to-Head Duncan Ferber guided I Don't Know with his phenomenal 676 as they swept the competition. The GameCox drops 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while I Don't Know moves 1 spot to 5th.

A new personal high game was set tonight by Kris Hiestand (223, previous best 184). In addition, new personal best series were rolled by Kris Hiestand (568, previous best 471) and Duncan Ferber (676, previous best 646). The 277 rolled by Don Glasscock is tied for the 3rd-best game in league history!
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Duncan Ferber shut down Division 1, while Tyler Hilker spanked Division 2. David Parre creamed Division 3, and Travis Kleiner topped Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about this bracket as it was a complete embarassment. In terms of overall points: Duncan Ferber dominates Division 1; Nik Domann calls the shots Division 2; Phil Schroeder runs the show in Division 3; and Travis Kleiner reigns over Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 7th-place Split Happens (hcp 40) will throw some gutter balls with 1st-place Dios Mios. Split Happens are expected to perform well, but split the series with Dios Mios; while Dios Mios are forecast to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 10th-place Seriously Handicapped (hcp 167) will share a couple of pitchers with 5th-place Sh!t, I Don't Know. The Handicapped might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while I Don't Know ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 9th-place Your Mom (hcp 68) will spend some quality time with 4th-place Cannonbelt Run. Your Mom will likely have a bit of an off night and get swept; while Cannonbelt will probably hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Next up, on lanes 25&26, 2nd-place Seefeldt the Glasscock will challenge 6th-place The GameCox (hcp 147). The Glasscock might roll a little low, but split the series with the GameCox; while the GameCox ought to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 3rd-place Bad Newz Kennels will compete against 8th-place Ebowla (hcp 131). The Kennels are predicted to perform well and sweep the series; while Ebowla is anticipated to raise their average even as they endure a rough night.
