The Spring 2010 position round is now history, and and the championship will be on us before we know it! The eighth week saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Two bowlers set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Janelle (Laube) Lamar landed this week's high game for the women with a 172, and women's high series was bagged by Angela Bradford with a 474. As for the men, Ryan Doll snagged this week's high game with a 220, and high series was earned by Ian Goetz with a 600. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 25 & 26: No Pinheads couldn't stop inappropriately groping 3 Pin Moon. Although topped by Dennis Laube with his 508 series, the Pinheads got swept by 3 Pin Moon. On the flipside, Ryan Doll took the lead in 3 Pin Moon with his 562 as they swept the competition. No Pinheads drop 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while 3 Pin Moon moves 1 spot to 1st.
On lanes 27 & 28: Scoot Gave Us The Schlitz had a delightful time with Empire Strikes Back. Featuring Bob Brunker with his 559 series, the Schlitz split the series with the Empire. Meanwhile, trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Ian Goetz reigned supreme in the Empire with his above-average 600 as they matched their opponent in wins. Scoot Gave Us The Schlitz remains in 3rd place, while the Empire remains in 4th.
On lanes 29 & 30: The Prak Attack chucked gutter balls with Bowlumpkin. In spite of the prowess of Shane Pfaffly with his above-average 457 series, the Attack accomplished only 1 win against Bowlumpkin. Concurrently, Dave Winger showed off in Bowlumpkin with his above-average 445 as his team took the series with 3 wins. The Prak Attack plummets 2 spots in the standings to 7th place, while Bowlumpkin remains in 6th.
Finally, down on lanes 31 & 32: Lil' Devils entered a showdown to the death with Little Lebowski Urban Achievers. Showcasing Janelle (Laube) Lamar with her spectacular 462 series, Lil' Devils celebrated a clean sweep over the Urban Achievers. As for the opposition, Greg Shelton laid down the law in the Urban Achievers with his above-average 411 despite his team getting swept. Lil' Devils leap 2 spots in the standings to 5th place, while the Urban Achievers remain in 8th.

A new personal high game was set tonight by AJ Taylor (178, previous best 171). In addition, new personal best series were rolled by Amy Goodnow (412, previous best 394) and Tiffany Schmidt (387, previous best 380).
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Dennis Laube creamed Division 1, while Brett Schroeder dominated Division 2. Shane Pfaffly claimed victory in Division 3, and Tiffany Schmidt won Division 4. In terms of overall points: Bob Brunker tops Division 1; Brett Schroeder is in the driver's seat in Division 2; Greg Shelton holds the reins in Division 3; and Lawrence Prak reigns over Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 25&26, 6th-place Bowlumpkin will share a couple of pitchers with 8th-place Little Lebowski Urban Achievers (hcp 34). Bowlumpkin is expected to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Urban Achievers are forecast to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 27&28, 5th-place Lil' Devils will battle 7th-place The Prak Attack (hcp 20). Lil' Devils might perform well and sweep the series; while the Attack ought to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Then, over on lanes 29&30, 2nd-place No Pinheads will throw some gutter balls with 3rd-place Scoot Gave Us The Schlitz (hcp 38). The Pinheads will likely maintain their current strength as they just barely lose the series; while the Schlitz will probably raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
- Finally, on lanes 31&32, 4th-place Empire Strikes Back will hang out with 1st-place 3 Pin Moon (hcp 17). The Empire is predicted to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while 3 Pin Moon is anticipated to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
