A listing (from most current to furthest back) of any write-up posts in which Phil has been mentioned:
  • Historic League Records Go Up In Smoke (Apr 16th, 2019) - The unlucky thirteenth week of Spring 2019 featured the rise of the Antichrist, who entered our world specifically to shatter a whole slew of league records. It also saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Two bowlers set a new personal best series, and two rolled new personal high games. Alison Radke picked up this week's high game (170) and series (424) for the women, while Satan himself AJ Hofmann earned this week's high game (279) and series (672) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Let Chaos Reign (Apr 2nd, 2019) - By now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Spring 2019 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The eleventh week saw four teams climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (175) and series (442) for the women. As for the men, Jonathan Vigliaturo and Ken M. Wilson both tied for this week's high game with a 237, and high series was earned by Aaron Barber with a 663. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • The Lava Lamp (Mar 5th, 2019) - Like the globs in a lava lamp, teams have been taking turns rising to the top only to then quickly sink back down. This week was no exception, as CICK Ass returned to the top with We Don't Give a Split bubbling up just behind, while Pin Is King and #MGAGA have cooled and sunk, perhaps to be heated back up again.

  • State Of The Alley (Feb 5th, 2019) - The third week of Spring 2019 saw two teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (178) and series (475) for the women, while Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (255) and series (629) for the men. And the Tournament of Champions divisions are now set, ready for one-on-one action to begin next week! Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Fall 2018 Recap (Dec 13th, 2018) -

  • The ToC Takes Off (Sep 11th, 2018) - The fourth week of Fall 2018 saw three teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (168) and series (479) for the women, while Aaron Barber earned this week's high game (203) and series (586) for the men. Meanwhile, the Tournament of Champions also kicked off tonight, beginning of 13 weeks of one-on-one bowling excitement! Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Time Again for Fall Bowling (Aug 16th, 2018) - With most of last season's bowlers returning, our newcomers brings back up to 10 teams for this session! We have 8 rookies joining us, plus two more "technically-rookies" -- subs from last season who are joining full time. Please give a warm welcome to (in roster order): Jeremy Cline, Conor Clarke, Emmy Hanlon, Ben Conaghan, Colin Belmont, Chuck Kissee (sub going full-time), David Juiliano, Luke Melton, Curtis Whiles, and Neil Hufford (sub going full-time).

  • Smokin' The Competition (Apr 17th, 2018) - Until last week, Mary Janes Last Frame had been suffering. They hadn't had a winning week since February 13, so it was good to see their fortunes finally turn last week. However, more noteworthy, MJ is also the only team that is consistently tripping up Witness!!!. Their 7-1 record against Witness (the only team with a winning record against the first-place team) makes one wonder how the championship might turn out if Mary Jane can rally enough in these next three weeks to reach second place in time. Dreaming aside, let's now look at things that and more grounded in reality. For instance, this wee Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (181) and series (488) for the women, while Russell Bingham earned this week's high game (264) and series (645) for the men. Ben Spencer rolled a new personal best series. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Witness Intimidation (Apr 3rd, 2018) - The tenth week of Spring 2018 saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped, and one bowler set a new personal best series. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (169) and series (462) for the women. As for the men, Kody Karnes and Nick Kinney both tied for this week's high game with a 245, and high series was earned by Kody Karnes with a 678. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • It's Springtime! Why are we inside? (Mar 20th, 2018) - Upon closer observation of the actual lane oil patterns (left), it has been determined that only house balls will be allowed for the remainder of the season. In other news, a renowned scientist was brought in to study Mary Janes Last Frame's current slump, a birthday announcement was missed by Scoot, and the computer overlords have changed the outcome of a series. To find out more, read on!

  • Happy Marditines Day (Feb 13th, 2018) - The the Tournament of Champions kicked off tonight, beginning of 13 weeks of one-on-one bowling excitement! But it got off to a rocky start, with two divisions performing so poorly that they didn't produce a winner this week. Two teams climbed in the standings, while two teams slipped. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (168) and series (490) for the women, while Russell Bingham earned this week's high game (265) and series (650) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Rolling Strong (Feb 6th, 2018) - Overall, this was the sixth hightest-rolliing week in league history. Two teams climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. Three bowlers set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (224) and series (592) for the women. As for the men, Michael Mead and Nick Kinney both tied for this week's high game with a 258, and high series was earned by Michael Mead with a 686. And the Tournament of Champions divisions are now set, ready for one-on-one action to begin next week! Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Balloween (Oct 31st, 2017) - With tonight being Halloween, almost half the league was bewitched by demons and unable escape from the dark presence of Satan long enough to roll. For those of us who surrounded ourselves with sufficient garlic, silver, and holy water to avoid all of the evil, here is how tonight's games went.

  • Finally, A Leader Emerges (Oct 24th, 2017) - Our position round has brought us a first in the Fall 2017 Seasoon. For the first time this season, a team has moved into first place that has more than just a 1-game lead!

  • The Left Rises (For Real This Time) (Sep 12th, 2017) - The Alt-Left can now finally celebrate a legitimate claim to first place, while last week's 1st place team plummets all the way to 5th. Meanwhile, the Tournament of Champions also started up with its new 40-bowler format. Read on to see how it all shook out!

  • A Flood of Big Games Eclipses the Usual Week 1 Sandbagging (Aug 22nd, 2017) - The Fall 2017 season began with two teams' worth of bowlers absent, but that didn't stop some big games from causing some surprising upsets across the lanes.

  • Get Your Bowling Shoes On! (Aug 13th, 2017) -

  • Spring 2017 Recap (May 19th, 2017) - 35 seasons of bowling are now behind us, and while this season may not have set a lot of records, it still has a few firsts and a lot of fun moments. And the surprise come-from-behind championship win by Omaha Hambone marks the first title win in quite some time that didn't come from ne of the long-time dynasties.

  • Nate Silver Predicted 71.4% Likelihood Frankee's Uncles To Sweep Championship (May 10th, 2017) - In an effort to fully understand the situation facing the league going into tonight, we asked renowned statistician Nate Silver to take a look at the numbers. Noting that Omaha Hambone would need to win an unpresidented [sic] FIVE games in a row to win the championship, and that Omaha Hambone lost three games to Frankee's Uncles the last time they faced each other, the analysis revealed a 71.4% chance of the Uncles sweeping the Hambone, and a 99.973% chance of an Uncle championship overall. But, because November 8, 2016 exists, we all know exactly how this turned out...

  • Can the Dark Horse Still Win? (May 2nd, 2017) - Probably not. :) Tonight was the last night of regular-season bowling, and next week decides it all! As is stands now, Omaha Hambone would have to sweep and then win the roll-off in order to defeat the perennial champs. However, Hambone is currently 4-4 against the Uncles, only won one game when they last faced each other, and last enjoyed a sweep 4 weeks ago. Sure, they may pull off a huge upset, but it's looking quite unlikely. How did it come to this?

  • Tightening the Grip (Apr 25th, 2017) - Next week is the last week of regular season bowling, and after a season that at first seemed to be heading toward finally letting someone else win for a change, it appears the dark overlords are getting a tighter grasp on yet another victory. Just two weeks left for any of the remaining competition to make a play!

  • Another RoboWriteup :( (Apr 18th, 2017) - Sorry, folks. Scoot only got 3 hours of sleep last night, so we have to do another computer-generated writeupo this week. :( Sorry about that!

  • Mopping It Up (Apr 12th, 2017) - Tonight was a night of almost all sweeps, and saw a formerly near-last-place team barrel its way into the top half of the standings. Meanwhile the formerly first-place team became increasingly frustrated with their inability to regain the lead and it cost them their most precious commodity.

  • Fat Tuesday? Nah, It's Just a Beer Belly. (Feb 28th, 2017) - Tonight we had several bowlers off celebrating Mardis Gras, and for a while it seemed some of the lanes might take the night off as well. Luckily everything came together and we finished our games with little debauchery, no arrests, and no one getting run over.

  • Flat-ner Is Coming (Nov 15th, 2016) - After years over suffering with blurry, miscolored, distorted scoreboards, we have credible information that by next week all of the scoreboards will be replaced with modern LCD flat=panel screens. It remains to be seen if or when this will be followed with high-def signal on the TVs, or working lanes. :)

  • Pops Tops Pins (Oct 18th, 2016) - We begin the second half with no movement in the standings, at least not so far. However the matchup between the top two teams can't be reported until the alphabet team post-bowls on Monday.

  • Halfway Done! (Oct 11th, 2016) - It's on. Despite all the sickness and injuries and disappearing team members, our league came back to form in a big way this week. This week was our league's strongest showing since April 19 and the second-strongest performance we've seen so far in 2016. We had more 200+ game tonight (14) than we've seen in any week so far this season. The season is now halfway over, and while last season's champions remain in the lead, a challenger is finally emerging who is chipping away at their lead.

  • A Fractured League Enters Midseason (Oct 4th, 2016) - Our decimated league is now approaching the position round, and yet another injury takes yet another bowler out for the the season. Let's al wish the best for both Mark DeVoe and Kody Karnes on their individual roads to recovery! Meanwhile, nobody moved in the standings this week. Which only makes sense, considering how few league members can even walk.

  • Tournament Takes Off, Ray & Stevie Take It Slow (Sep 14th, 2016) - For the first time in league history, the team rolling against the Blind (Vacancy) Team not only didn't finish early, they were actually the last to finish. Meanwhile a late addition to the league (Ben Spencer) made for a complicated first week for the Tournament of Champions, and next week will be equally complicated when another new bowler -- likely the last new bowler this season -- will join us. And, finally, find out how the Carolina Reaper may come into play this season.

  • Sweepage (Sep 6th, 2016) - All four matchups ended in sweeps tonight. Who did the sweeping and who wound up in the dustbin? The answers to these questions and more, in this week's episode of All My Gutterballs.

  • Spring 2016 is History (May 24th, 2016) -

  • Why Did Pocahontas Leave Her Hairpiece By The Campfire? (May 18th, 2016) - Tonight, on our last real night of bowling, we were joined by several new people that had never rolled in our league all season. It was the strangest thing, though... none of them were ever seen at the same time as Amber, Michelle S., Angela, Bob, Kody, or John Boren. Very! weird!

  • Split Sisters Split It and Swept It (May 3rd, 2016) - The Split Sisters utilized the power of high squeaky sounds of excitement to eke out their first sweep of the season! How did everyone else do? Read on to find out...

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooo!!!!!!! (Mar 22nd, 2016) - Bookended by a lack of movement, the 6 teams not at the extremes all saw shuffling in the standings in this week's position round. Though it's doubful anyone noticed over all the celebratory hollering down on lane 48.

  • The 11th Frame -- Week 6, Spring 2016 (Mar 11th, 2016) -

  • The 11th Frame -- Week 3, Spring 2016 (Feb 19th, 2016) - This week we look at the accomplishments of a couple of bowlers and make some Tournament of Champions predictions.

  • Theory of Relativity Proven (Feb 16th, 2016) - Just days after the announcement that gravity waves were detected, another portion of Einstein's Theory of Relativity was proven tonight when the matchup that involved Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! finished in less time than any other matchup! Granted, they shed half of their mass in order do do it, but it's all part of the famous equation.

  • Six More Weeks of Cheese Sticks (Feb 2nd, 2016) - Groundhog Day saw Glory Bowl leapfrog to 3rd place and an unSetherized Fallop Ian continue to make an early claim on repeating first place.

  • The 11th Frame -- Week 1, Spring 2016 (Jan 28th, 2016) -

  • Off And Rolling (Jan 26th, 2016) - The first week of our 33rd season began with lots of laughter and reunions, progressed through lots of beer, and ended with four teams rubbing their sore butts.

  • Let's Try This Again... It's Time to Bowl! (Jan 22nd, 2016) -

  • Welcome to the Spring 2016 Season! (Jan 11th, 2016) -

  • Falling Apart at the Seams (Dec 8th, 2015) - For reasons unknown, that definitely had nothing to do with the first place team getting swept, the lanes started falling apart tonight! As did any chance of seeing any of 2nd thru 6th place get locked up early.

  • Taffy Sticks It! (Dec 1st, 2015) - Salt Water Taffy earned a rare Week 14 championship clinching! Congratulations to Jonathan, Ian, Seth, and Carl on their victory this season!

  • A Bunch Of Crap (Nov 17th, 2015) - Because the results of the bowling matchups this week were so expected, and therefore so boring, Scoot has absolutely no inspiration for what to write about this week. Due to this, just so Scoot would stay awake writing this, much of the following is a load of crap.

  • Someone is Cornholing the League (Nov 10th, 2015) - Holy Sandbaggers, Batman, has swept 3 weeks in a row and faces the blind team next week. Could a new threat to the Taffy domination be emerging?

  • Taffy Pulls Further Ahead (Oct 20th, 2015) - Phil and Ian both set new personal bests tonight, and 4 teams moved into a tie for second place.

  • Hawking Gets Taffy Pulled (Sep 22nd, 2015) -

  • Salt Water Daffy (Sep 15th, 2015) - Apparently the secret to sweeping this season (apart from bowling the blind team) is to pre-bowl, based upon a precedent set by Salt Water Taffy. Read on to find out how much they bribed the AMF staff to set them up with Fisher-Price bowling pins...

  • Sandbaggers Away! (Aug 25th, 2015) - Failing to live up to their name, Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! took an early lead tonight, sending their their opponents, It's A Trap!, to the bottom of the standings. Hopefully that's a trap they can escape from next week. Read on to see how the rest of the night came together...

  • Fall 2015 Preview: Milestones to Watch For (Aug 25th, 2015) -

  • Freda Finishes... First? (May 5th, 2015) - The championship ends the season wit the thinnest of win margins, the team that waS in last place most of the season opts to forfeit to regain their status, and an unlikely team was the first done bowling.

  • 7-10! (Apr 28th, 2015) - Champs crowned, splits splatted, pins righted, what DIDN'T happen this week?

  • Some Taxing Matchups (Apr 14th, 2015) - Bowlers getting tax refunds bowled well, bowlers who owe bowled terribly, and bowlers who haven't started their taxes at all yet were no-shows. Who fell into what category? Read on to find out.

  • Getting Positioned (Mar 3rd, 2015) - How are things shaping up for next week's position round? Have a look and find out...

  • Balls of Amazingness (Feb 25th, 2015) - Another odd week of bowling shakes up the top of the standings, but little else!

  • Sorry, Charlie (Feb 18th, 2015) - Jake Parrott had quite the night, how did the other 18 bowlers who managed to show up last night do? Read on to find out!

  • The Cream Rises (Feb 3rd, 2015) - The same teams that sat atop the league standings last season are back at it after the results of Week #3. Big scores and even bigger series continue to be put up by the league as a whole as the 32-person roster currently sits at the 2nd best season of all time mark. Not a bad start, gang. Not a bad start at all.See how it all played out...

  • Battle Tested, Brunker Approved (Jan 27th, 2015) - With two weeks of the Spring 2015 season in the books, six – count 'em, SIX! – bowlers are currently carrying averages above the 200 mark. The number six also made its mark in the league standings this week as that number of teams swapped places. Did we also mention that Carl Goetz shot a 666 series? Spooky.Ready to get all the details? You know what to do...

  • Wasting No Time (Jan 20th, 2015) - The Spring 2015 session kicked off Tuesday night and Kody Karnes wasted absolutely no time at serving notice that his team looks to repeat as champions. Setting a 237 average, Karnes quickly re-established his team at the top of the heap. Can they keep it until the Finals in May? Only time will tell...

  • For Whom the Bell Tolls (Dec 2nd, 2014) - The Finals lineup is now set for the Fall 2014 season of GutterAlley, our 30th Finals since we started this crazy league back in late 1999. Look how far we have come: in the very first season, it was a rare occurrence if anyone shot a 200 game. Now, we have people that average that on a weekly basis. This season has also seen more 200+ games than ever before, a testament as to how much we've improved over the past decade and a half.

  • Turkeys Galore (Nov 25th, 2014) - Turkeys, turkeys, turkeys...damn, there were a LOT of turkeys thrown during GutterAlley action in Week #14. Currently on pace to see more 200+ games than any other season in league history, twenty-two games of 200+ were thrown by more than a third of the roster this week alone. The top two teams in the league remained tied atop of the heap with The Finals just a hop, skip, and a jump away. Let's do this...

  • Vets Battle on Veteran's Day (Nov 11th, 2014) - As the nation paid its respects to those who served our country in the armed forces, the bowlers in GutterAlley showed little to no respect to those with any affiliation as they jockeyed for wins before the Finals arrive next month. While only two teams switched spots in the league standings, gaps are starting to form in-between the various teams throughout setting up what is sure to be an interesting finish to the season.

  • 9...3...4 (Oct 28th, 2014) - For more than six years, the men of Ain't No Sh!T enjoyed sitting atop one of the most impressive league records of all-time – their 921 single game team output. Tuesday night, however, saw that score moved to 2nd place as four new guys moved to the top of that mountain after some stellar output...and climbing to within two games of the current league leaders. Can they catch them before the Finals? Only time will tell.

Rob Kaszuba put up his first MVB of the season to bring Dixie Stampede out of the gutter. All in all, Week #4 action saw some big action.

  • Dixie Stampeded (Sep 16th, 2014) - This week only two teams managed to climb in the standings --- one of those scoring a major upset that shook up one end of the standings. Read on to learn the details...

  • The Second Week Shuffle (Sep 2nd, 2014) - Week #2 watched as nearly every team moved into a new spot in the league standings. Many averages rose while just as many fell from their initial week debuts but none moved as much as Matt Bunyard's this the details? You know what to do.

  • Pinterest Pins the Championship (May 13th, 2014) - The Spring 2014 season came to a close with the Finals a mere formality as Pinterest had already wrapped up the championship last week. The full recap can be found inside...

  • Best. Series. Ever. (May 6th, 2014) - While the big story of the night should be that Pinterest wrapped up the Spring 2014 championship, their feat was overshadowed by the incredible output from Kody Karnes and his 773 series – the highest output by a bowler over the course of our 29 seasons. The previous record of Don Glasscock's 770 series has stood since the Spring 2008 season. Congratulations to Jonathan Vigliaturo, Andy McLeod, Ian Goetz, and Seth Gunderson on their title but also to Kody Karnes for rolling one HELL of a series.

  • Cannon Fodder (Apr 29th, 2014) - And boom goes the dynamite as Week #14 action sees the league leaders increasing their margin over the rest of the league back up to 3.5 games heading into the final week of the regular season. • Zeroing in on the Target (Apr 22nd, 2014) - With their grasp on the Spring '14 title becoming looser and looser, Pinterest suffered yet another set back in Week #13 action as their lead over the rest of the league – once +8 – has been reduced to only a game and a half with two weeks left in the regular season. The Finals may end up being a winner takes all affair if things continue on their current trajectory. Step inside and read how it all happened in this week's recap...

  • The Home Stretch (Apr 15th, 2014) - Just a few short weeks back, it looked like Pinterest's crowning as the champions of the Spring 2014 season was just a matter of time due to their huge lead over the rest of the league. Now with less than a month until the Finals we're quickly learning that a couple of other teams are not quite ready to give up the fight. As the march until the final showdown on May 13th continues, the lead has evaporated to merely 3.5 games proving that it's not over quite yet...especially considering that the three teams still in it face one another over the next three weeks.

  • Tronned! (Apr 8th, 2014) - Pinterest had five weeks left to wrap up the championship crown but the rest of the league refuses to make it easy on them. Around the rest of the league, some big scores – and one REALLY big series – showed up as the Spring 2014 continues on.Check out how your favorite team did in this week's update...

  • April Fool's Gold! (Apr 1st, 2014) - Week #10 happened to fall on April Fool's Day this year but the biggest jokesters in the league weren't laughing as much as they suffered their biggest matchup defeat of the season. Granted, it wasn't huge but it was a surprise as to who dished it out.Around the league, some big scores came out of unexpected places as the season continues onward...

  • Goetz It Done (Mar 25th, 2014) - Pinterest continues to extend their lead in the league standings as they now sit a full eight games out from second place. It's going to take some serious competition to derail the most energetic team this season from their steam rolling to the championship crown. Ian Goetz narrowly missed putting up his first 700 series as the boys continue to destroy all who stand in their way. Week #9 action is now in the books...

  • Position Round Robin (Mar 18th, 2014) - The Spring 2014 season is now halfway complete and Pinterest is laying claim to this season's crown. Having put up the 2nd best first half win record in league history, it's going to be their crown to lose as the season progresses. The position round is now in the books and, with it, four teams swapped places in the standings.Ready to find out who made moves during the position round?

  • Batting .857 (Mar 10th, 2014) - Not since the Fall '09 season has a team gotten off to such an incredible start to their season as Pinterest. Currently sitting with an 85.7% win percentage, the loudest and most fun team in the league is on the cusp of making history. Could they be on their way to being only the third team in league history to wrap up the championship by week #13? They'll definitely set the tone next week in the position round. But, for now, let's see how everyone landed for next week's big showdown...

  • Blue Skies for Gray (Mar 4th, 2014) - Week #6 was fraught with ups and downs as almost every single team found a new home in the league standings. Pinterest, however, continues to dominate the league with their impressive 21-3 start and are definitely the team to beat. On an individual basis, many bowlers put up big series and games this week including Sabrina Gray – who rolled her highest series ever. Congrats, Sabrina!

  • They're Going In Dry (Feb 25th, 2014) - Strap yourselves in, gang, as the men of Pinterest continue to emphatically add more and more wins to their already impressive record this season. At 18-2 so far, they are definitely the team to beat as they extend their lead out to four full games ahead of everyone else. Anchor and Hall of Famer Seth Gunderson is having the best season of his career and has his mind set firmly on delivering a championship to his team this time around after falling just short last season. Did we mention that he also shot his all-time career series Tuesday night in the process? Yeah, he did.

  • Powerful Pinterest (Feb 18th, 2014) - This week, two teams ended Week #4 action with records of 14-2. On their tails are two other teams sitting at 10-6. Next week, these four teams square off against one another (1st vs. 3rd, 2nd, vs. 4th) in an attempt to really switch things up. Find out what these teams did tonight to put themselves into those top four spots...

  • Holey Bowley! (Jan 28th, 2014) - The ups and downs of Week #2 proved to live up to expectations as every single bowler in the league (minus those absent or setting their average this week) either raised or lowered their average. Three teams swept, three teams got swept, and two teams battled one another to a standstill at two games apiece – and even resulted in Bill Krejci knocking a big hole in the wall next to Lane 48. Just your typical night of GutterAlley action...

  • Chopping Away (Oct 30th, 2013) - The league continues to chop away at the lead that Bowltron has held on the league standings for quite some time, this week narrowing that gap to a mere three games. With the Finals a little over a month away, wins are going to be come more precious going forward. Will anyone catch 'em before it's too late? It's looking that way.Now get in there and see how everyone did...

  • True or false: what is your horniest bowling night ever? (Oct 22nd, 2013) - The Week #10 recap comes to you this week compliments of guest columnists Seth Gunderson and Jonathan Vigliaturo.Me so horny.

  • 3-1 or 1-3, Take Your Pick (Oct 8th, 2013) - The midway point of the Fall 2013 season has been reached and with it came all four matchups ending at 3-1. The current league leaders have built and impressive gap between themselves and the rest of the league setting up an interesting second half.

  • Back and Forth (Sep 17th, 2013) - Six teams moved places in the league standings, there were hardly any 200s, teams continue to bowl like crap but are still handed wins, and Grand Theft Auto 5 came out so this week's recap is pretty damn sparse.

  • Gutterfingered! (Sep 11th, 2013) - Week #4 showcased some upsets that were certainly not in line with predictions churned out via ScooterMath...highlighted with a stunning sweep by the Gutterfingers. Bryan Mohr continues to impress as he learns the nuances of a new bowling ball which he used to earn yet another #1 Power Ranked Bowler performance for a second week in a row. Congratulations to returning league champions Dennis "Pops" Laube, Freda Schroeder, Phil Schroeder, and Aubrey Moren!

  • The 11th Frame Week 14, Spring 2013 (May 6th, 2013) -

  • I'll Be Back? (Apr 30th, 2013) - Despite one team opting to post-bowl this week, the season has now come down to a potential Finals showdown between current league leaders Will Strike if Provoked and Dragon Balls. Low scores permeated the entire league, most of which could be blamed on the fact that the bowling alley's bar was deplete of beer. Oh the humanity...

  • Breaking Away? (Apr 23rd, 2013) - The Finals are three weeks away and one team has started to separate themselves from the rest of the pack with their eye on the title. While various scenarios are still possible, momentum seems to be on the side of the former championship team that last won it all just last Spring. Can they be stopped or are they simply breaking away? Also this week – a slumping vet turns his season around and earns #1 Power Ranked Bowler honors in the process, a quiet bowler puts on the first MVB performance of her career, and the league shatters the all-time record for most 200+ games in a single season. What a week!

  • Three Up, Two Down (Apr 16th, 2013) - With huge outputs across the league all season from the same handful of bowlers, the biggest performances during Week #12 came from unlikely sources. This week's Most Valuable Bowler nearly put up the best series of her career to keep her team tied with the best record in the league while this week's #1 Power Ranked Bowler put on a clinic against the league's former 1st place team, sending them down in the standings. Ready to find out who all did what? Read on...

  • The 11th Frame Week 10, Spring 2013 (Apr 4th, 2013) -

  • Challenge Accepted (Apr 2nd, 2013) - Anyone not casting their vote at the end of this season for Kody Karnes to be named Rookie of the Season is absolutely kidding themselves. Putting together three consecutive 200+ games Tuesday night, Karnes rolled this season's fourth 700+ series – and the league's 21st – and raised his average to an even 200. Not too bad for a debut bowler. Curious how everyone else fared? Good...

  • Arkansas Ass Kickin' (Mar 19th, 2013) - Almost not showing this week, Bill Krejci – the anchor of the appropriately named Murder, He Wrote – arrived fashionably late to deliver an incredible performance in this season's position round to propel his team to a mere half-game out of first place. A new team took over the top spot in the league standings, Mark DeVoe was this week's Most Valuable Bowler, and the league as a whole is more than half way to breaking a long-standing record. Get your GutterAlley on, y'all...

  • The More Things Change... (Mar 13th, 2013) - The league is almost officially half over now that everyone has done battle with one another. The position round comes our way next week but this week's matchup results brought something we haven't seen in quite some time – the top five spots in the league standings are separated by a mere two games. Ready to find out how this all went down? Check it out.

  • Birthday Beatdown (Mar 5th, 2013) - To celebrate Freda's birthday Tuesday evening, her team wanted to deliver a spanking to opponents and fellow league standing toppers Snakes on a Plane. By the end of the night, the team came through and Freda and crew now stand atop the charts all by themselves. Also around the league, Neil Rieger said goodbye to GutterAlley with a near perfect game while one team opted to post-bowl making it a later-than-usual week to provide the full update.Ready to see how things ended up? Step right in, then...

  • The 11th Frame: Week 5, Spring 2013 (Feb 21st, 2013) -

  • One Pin Ken (Feb 20th, 2013) - The record for the highest series ever thrown in GutterAlley's history has stood since Week 6 of the Spring 2008 session, when Don Glasscock put up a 770 series. While it still stands as the best, one lousy pin kept Ken M. Wilson from not only throwing a perfect game but also from creating a score that would have bested Don's series. Week #5 is now you know where your favorite team stands?

  • Up, Up, and Away (Feb 12th, 2013) - Superman and Wonder Woman were in the building Tuesday night, on multiple lanes, as the league saw some huge output across the board. An astounding eighteen games of 200+ were thrown in what is shaping up to be one of the highest output seasons in league history...nine by the chumps pictured here.

  • The 11th Frame: Week 3, Spring 2013 (Feb 7th, 2013) -

  • The 11th Frame: Week 2, Spring 2013 (Jan 30th, 2013) -

  • The 11th Frame: Week 1, Spring 2013 (Jan 28th, 2013) -

  • Colossal Debuts (Jan 23rd, 2013) - The Spring 2013 season got underway Tuesday night and a good portion of the league forgot that you're not supposed to bowl lights out and set big averages on the first night. Ian Goetz, pictured, was the biggest ignorer of this time honored tradition.Want to see just how well people shot in Week #1? Well, read on...

  • No Friends of Mine (Dec 4th, 2012) - Week #15 set the stage for the Finals of the 26th season of GutterAlley action. Two teams, separated by a mere half a game, will battle it out for the crown in one of the tightest races to the finish line in league history. Let's get this party started...

And yet, in the end, not a single team managed to move up or down in the league standings. Ready to see how the teams are setting the stage for the last week before the Finals? Let's go.

  • We've Got Big Ballz (Nov 13th, 2012) - Ballz Out proved, once again, that when they are scheduled to bowl whichever team is in first place they are THE team to be feared. Cliff Barendsen torched his opponents and sent them packing after their short lived tenure at the top of the league standings with yet another incredible performance. How did the rest of the league standings shape up? Let's get onto that write-up, shall we?

  • The Dark Knight Rises (Nov 7th, 2012) - For the third time this season, another team has taken over the top spot on the league standings. Ready to find out how it all went down? Let's go trick or treating, then.

  • Taking It On the Chin (Oct 23rd, 2012) - Just about every underdog team in tonight's matchups made sure to make their opponents take it on the chin as the league standings tightened up in the second half of the Fall 2012 season. Despite only three teams changing places, leads over other teams have been significantly diminished as only ten games separate all eight teams in the league. With 28 games still left to win, it's honestly anyone's title to take. Will your favorite team make the most of these next seven weeks?

  • Position Round Repositionings (Oct 16th, 2012) - With only two teams staying put, every other team found itself in a new spot on the league standings after the position round. Huge games and series were recorded across the board in what was probably the highest scoring midway point of any season in league history. Even Hall of Famer Scott "Scooter J" Murdock shot his first 600+ series. What in the hell are they putting in the beer on Tuesday nights?!?Ready to get the full recap? You know what to do.

  • Missed it by THAT Much... (Oct 9th, 2012) - Last week, David Codding rolled a perfect game. This week, Carl Goetz fell one pin shy of joining Codding in perfection after rolling eleven strikes in a row but ending with a 299. Other bowlers around the league also had big games and huge series. What's going on with these guys...and can they share it with the rest of us?!?See that pin? Carl HATES that pin.Dive into this week's writeup...

  • Absolute Perfection (Oct 2nd, 2012) - One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten. Eleven. Twelve. Twelve strikes in a row. David Codding becomes the first person to roll a perfect game on league night. It doesn't get much better than that, folks. Actually, it cannot.

  • Rise of the Mayans (Sep 25th, 2012) - Week #5 saw some domination as three of the four matchups ended in opponents getting swept. Only one matchup was a real roller coaster thanks to an MVB performance from Teresa Deterding that ended in a 2-2 split. Five of the eight teams changed places in the league standings and two bowlers shot lights out to both surpass the highest series thrown this season so far. Hop on into this week's writeup to get the lowdown...

  • Kiernan Takes Over the Crown (Sep 18th, 2012) - When you have eight teams on a roster, you don't expect 75% of them to swap places on a single Tuesday. Well, Week #4 was that week. The highlight of the night, however, was Steve Kiernan throwing a 259 in Game #3 to take over the highest game thrown all season.

  • They Didn't Split It, They Hit It (Sep 11th, 2012) - Week #3 is now in the books and with it came some surprises across the league: the last place team upset the first place team; two bowlers shot over 250+ while another shot over 240; several seemingly-impossible splits were picked up; and, in the end, several games were settled by the slimmest of margins. Ahh, GutterAlley...bring me the scoop!

  • Spring 2012: And the winner is... (May 8th, 2012) - The 25th season of the GutterAlley bowling league came to a close and the list of winners from the season favorites to individual achievements were well as Bob Brunker, the latest inductee into the Hall of Fame.

Each now have a story of their own...

  • BAROOOOOOO-tiful (Apr 17th, 2012) - In the battle for second place, Black Belt Jones did something that no other team has been able to do this entire season – walk away the victor in a matchup against back-to-back league champions, The Turkey Hunters. And, tentatively, though no teams really moved up or down in the standings, every game won means more money in each teams' envelopes at the end of the season so teams aren't letting up as the conclusion of the Spring 2012 session nears...

  • V for Victory (Apr 11th, 2012) -

  • Every Pin Counts (Apr 3rd, 2012) - We've said it before and we'll say it again...every pin counts. With several games settled Tuesday night by the smallest of numbers – one even settled by a single pin – the smallest of missteps during the contest can come back to haunt you when all is said and done. Week 12 saw wins and losses settled in the 10th frame, big performances from some likely and unlikely sources, and next to no movement in the league standings. Ready to hear all about it? Let's get it on, then.

  • The Beard Man Cometh (Mar 28th, 2012) - Barring a miracle, the reigning champions have all but wrapped up their second winning season as they continue to lay waste to any and all teams they face on the lanes. With that, it's now simply a battle for second place as the league marches on towards the Finals on May 1st...and Jonathan Vigliaturo plans to be that team as he continues to improve weekly.

  • Still Some Fight in 'Em (Updated!) (Mar 20th, 2012) - The family rivalry continues as mother hen Freda Schroeder and her Turkey Hunters continue to crush all who face them while son Carl Goetz and daughter Angela Bradford of Strange Bedfellows strive to narrow the gap between the two teams. Many think that the Bedfellows should just go to bed...but maybe they still have some fight in 'em.Ready to find out how this week went down? Let's go.

  • Ready, Set, Restart! (Mar 14th, 2012) - With the position round behind the league now, the schedule begins anew with a repeat of the first seven weeks of the season. So are we...

  • Hall of Fame Nominees: Spring 2012 (Mar 12th, 2012) - The GutterAlley Hall of Fame was created to commemorate and honor those individuals that best represent the bowling league throughout its rich history. Scores big enough to earn spots on a number of Top 25 lists as well as one in the top five all-time records in league history. One team even tied the biggest output from a 5-person team Tuesday night. What the hell has gotten into all of these people?!?

  • Big Bad Bill is Sweet Rollin' Now (Feb 1st, 2012) - We're now three weeks into the season and the league standings shuffled themselves up nicely, with all but one team moving into a new position. Brown Belt Jones – the lone holdout from moving up or down – witnessed their own Bill Krejci roll his all-time personal best series and earn both MVB and #1 Power Ranked Bowler honors in the process. So where does everyone sit now in the standings? You'll have to read on to find out...

  • The Big Finish (Dec 13th, 2011) - What a whirlwind finish to the Fall 2011 season – Ryan Doll shoots a 700+ series, 5 out of the eight teams swapped places in the league standings, and several people rolled their all time personal best games and series including this week's Most Valuable Bowler Eric Summers. • Futility for the Finals (Dec 6th, 2011) - Freda Schroeder, Phil Schroeder, Dennis "Pops" Laube, and Aubrey Moren finished what they set out to do this season – winning a championship. Besting all other teams en route to the season's best record, No Pinheads were crowned the Fall 2011 champions a full week before the Finals. How's that for a finish? As it turns out, every single team will face the team they faced this week in the Finals. Again, how's THAT for a finish? And, anyone have any idea why Pops looks like he's constipated in their championship photo to the left?

  • Two Games Away (Nov 29th, 2011) - The members of No Pinheads have been in first place since Week #4. Here we are in Week #14 and they are only two games away from ending any doubt as to which team will come away with the championship crown in the Fall 2011 season. • Dedication, Devotion...and Destruction (Mar 8th, 2011) - With the position round just two weeks away, teams are slowly gravitating towards their standings opponents in what should be a do or die rolloff week on March 22nd. For now, Week #6 managed to keep everyone in their current spots with two exceptions as No Pinheads bunny hopped SucmaBOWLS. Not complacent with the status quo, the league was treated to a nice showing of dedication from Dolls and Balls' anchor Ryan Doll who despite having recently had surgery performed on his bowling arm showed up to keep his team from forfeiting and rolled with his opposite hand to keep his team in the running. Ready to see how everyone did as the first half of the season nears its end?

A late surge by Ground Zero Mosque in the Finals managed to propel them into 2nd place while this week's Most Valuable Bowler rolled his highest game ever to cap off the evening.Ready to find out how everyone did in the Finals? Good. Let's light this candle, then...

  • It's a Wrap! Finals Next Week (Nov 30th, 2010) - This season's powerhouse team proved to be the Pin Pricks as they clinched the title one week before the Finals. Congratulations to Ian Goetz, Carl Goetz, David Codding and Ken M. Wilson for winning the 2010 Fall season of the VML Bowling League. While the rest of the league spread themselves out quite a bit on the second to last week of bowling, the teams in 2nd and 3rd place end up with a mere half of a game separating one another. The season's individual achievements reached an ending as well with eight bowlers lined up to receive additional money in their envelopes at the end of the season. • She Gives Me Vict'ries When I'm In Need (Oct 19th, 2010) - As the season's schedule restarts itself, each team faced a familiar opponent. Barring the outcome of the post-bowling matchup between the Pin Pricks and Feed the Monkey, every team that rolled Tuesday night met with radically different results than their initial meeting back in August. Despite the wins and losses, only had two teams swapped places in the league standings.Ready to see how everyone did? Read on...

  • Slowly Chipping Away (Sep 28th, 2010) - Having led the league since Week #2, the bowlers of No Pinheads found their lead cut down to a single game after narrowly taking a 3-1 victory over Bowl Movement this week. A two pin victory in Game #2 keeps them atop of the league standings...but with three other teams within striking distance of over taking the #1 spot, can they hold onto it long enough to win the title?Find out how everyone did in Week #6...
