The Spring 2014 season officially came to an end Tuesday night with the Finals a mere formality as the new league champions wrapped it all up last week. Congratulations once again to Jonathan Vigliaturo, Andy McLeod, Ian Goetz, and Seth Gunderson. This is the first title for both Jonathan and Andy, the 4th for Ian, and the 6th for Seth. The Spring 2014 had two great events take place during Week #14. Firstly, the scrappy band of Jonathan Vigliaturo, Andy McLeod, Ian Goetz, and Seth Gunderson wrapped up the season to clinch the championship crown the week before the Finals. The Finals are almost upon us as Week #14 proved to be a quiet one in regards to any switches in the league standings. The league leaders, however, managed to increase their lead from a mere 1.5 games back up to 3.5 over the rest of the league as they try to wrap up the season before the big Finals showdown. Twice in GutterAlley's recorded history, the eventual champions were able to lock up the season in Week #13 and just coast the rest of the way with the title already in hand. This season's frontrunners looked all but ready to wrap it up coming out of the position round, having amassed the 2nd best first-half win record in league history. With the Spring '14 position round behind us, the schedule reset and everyone faced their opposition from the very first night once again in Week #9. While the league leaders continue to distance themselves from the other seven teams on the roster, the overall output from the league as a whole is currently the third best in league history with a chance to be the best ever. The midway point of the season is upon us and, as always, that means that it's time for the position round. Week #6 is now in the books and with it came quite the shuffling in the league standings. All but one team found themselves in a new position while the lone foursome that didn't budge extended its lead out ahead of everyone else after an impressive 21-3 start and will easily find themselves on this Top 25 list after the position round. The ever-volatile Week #2 of Gutteralley's latest season proved to be an interesting one as every single bowler – minus those absent or setting an average – either raised of lowered their average.
