The tweltfh week of Spring 2007 saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (172) and series (473) for the women, while Don Glasscock earned this week's high game (238) and series (630) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 15 & 16: X9XX took turns kicking the ball return with Oily Balls. Regardless of the star power of Don Glasscock with his 630 series, X9XX accomplished only 1 win against Oily Balls. Simultaneously, Ken M. Wilson ruled Oily Balls with his 533 as his team took the series with 3 wins. X9XX remains in 4th place, while Oily Balls remain in 2nd.
On lanes 17 & 18: Those 4 Bowlers tussled with Churn and Burn. In spite of the prowess of Seth Gunderson with his below-average 470 series, 4 Bowlers accomplished only 1 win against Churn and Burn. On the other side, Jason Carpio took the lead in Churn and Burn with his 506 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Those 4 Bowlers remains in 5th place, while Churn and Burn moves 1 spot to 7th.
On lanes 19 & 20: Doll's Balls hung out with Guttersluts. Topped by Ryan Doll with his above-average 547 series, Doll's Balls split the series with Guttersluts. Concurrently, John Boren laid down the law in Guttersluts with his below-average 537 as they matched their opponent in wins. Doll's Balls remains in 6th place, while Guttersluts remain in 1st.
On lanes 21 & 22: King Pins spent some quality time with T.B.D.. Though featuring Duncan Ferber with his above-average 576 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Daniel Bolton, King Pins managed only 1.5 wins against T.B.D.. On the adjacent lane, Nik Domann drew the spotlight in T.B.D. with his 537 (along with props to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Daniel Bolton) as his team took the series with 2.5 wins. King Pins drop 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while T.B.D. remains in 10th.
Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Frickin' Ten Pin sparred with Unstoppabowl. With the strength of Carl Goetz with his 553 series, Ten Pin collected 3 wins against Unstoppabowl. As for the opposition, Cory Chorpenning shined in Unstoppabowl with his 564 despite his team notching only a single win. Frickin' Ten Pin remains in 9th place, while Unstoppabowl remains in 3rd.
Bowlers slipping into The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (208,222), Cory Chorpenning (204,203), Don Glasscock (238), Duncan Ferber (219), Jason Carpio (201), John Boren (218), John Coleman (206), Ken M. Wilson (218), Nik Domann (200), Phil Schroeder (204), and Ryan Doll (200)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Ken M. Wilson topped Division 1, while Phil Schroeder walloped Division 2. David Parre creamed Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Greg Middleton came closest). And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about this bracket as it was a complete embarassment. In terms of overall points: John Boren dominates Division 1; Seth Gunderson is in the driver's seat in Division 2; Dave Hickerson reigns over Division 3; and Daniel Bolton holds the reins in Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 15&16, 7th-place Churn and Burn will battle 8th-place King Pins (hcp 45). Churn and Burn is expected to roll a little low, but split the series with King Pins; while King Pins are forecast to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
- Moving to lanes 17&18, 1st-place Guttersluts (hcp 56) will test their mettle against 4th-place X9XX. Guttersluts might roll a little low and get swept; while X9XX ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Then, over on lanes 19&20, 3rd-place Unstoppabowl will match wits with 5th-place Those 4 Bowlers (hcp 28). Unstoppabowl will likely maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while 4 Bowlers will probably hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Next up, on lanes 21&22, 2nd-place Oily Balls will throw some gutter balls with 9th-place Frickin' Ten Pin (hcp 34). Oily Balls might maintain their current strength as they and split the series with Ten Pin; while Ten Pin ought to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
- Finally, on lanes 23&24, 10th-place T.B.D. (hcp 28) will tussle with 6th-place Doll's Balls. T.B.D. is predicted to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Doll's Balls are anticipated to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)

FROM THE GUTTER (GUTTER QUOTE)
"So you have no frame of reference here, Dave. You're like a child who wanders into the middle of a movie and wants to know..."
Seth Gunderson, on bowlers who show up late and want to join the game in progress.
