We are now halfway through the Fall 2007 season, so time is running out for those teams who want a shot at the championship to position themselves. The eighth week saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Two bowlers set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Janelle (Laube) Lamar landed this week's high game for the women with a 135, and women's high series was bagged by Jennifer Seefeldt with a 377. As for the men, Don Glasscock earned this week's high game (277) and series (691). Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Bad Newz Kennels traded lane malfunctions with Your Mom. Topped by Carl Goetz with his below-average 487 series, the Kennels celebrated a clean sweep over Your Mom. Conversely, Ryan Doll laid down the law in Your Mom with his below-average 476 despite his team getting swept. Bad Newz Kennels remains in 3rd place, while Your Mom remains in 9th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Split Happens kept stealing sips of beer from Seefeldt the Glasscock. Demonstrating the prowess of Most Valuable Bowler Nick Allegri and his above-average 524 series, Split Happens collected 3 wins against the Glasscock. On the other side, Don Glasscock reigned supreme in the Glasscock with his 691 despite his team notching only a single win. Split Happens leap 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while the Glasscock sinks 1 spot to 2nd.
On lanes 23 & 24: Ebowla spent some quality time with Dios Mios. Although blessed by Tom Finley with his spectacular 420 series, Ebowla got swept by Dios Mios. Across the ball return, #1 Power-Ranked Kris Hiestand showed off in Dios Mios with his terrific 568 as they swept the competition. Ebowla drops 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while Dios Mios move 1 spot to 1st.
On lanes 25 & 26: Seriously Handicapped entered a showdown to the death with Cannonbelt Run. In spite of top-billing by Tyler Hilker with his stunning 563 series, the Handicapped accomplished only 1 win against Cannonbelt. On the adjacent lane, Seth Gunderson guided Cannonbelt with his below-average 476 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Seriously Handicapped remains in 10th place, while Cannonbelt remains in 4th.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: The GameCox deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of Sh!t, I Don't Know. Though reinforced by Jason Carpio with his below-average 475 series, the GameCox got swept by I Don't Know. On the other half of the score sheet, #1 Head-to-Head Duncan Ferber drew the spotlight in I Don't Know with his phenomenal 676 as they swept the competition. The GameCox drops 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while I Don't Know moves 1 spot to 5th.

A new personal high game was set tonight by Kris Hiestand (223, previous best 184). In addition, new personal best series were rolled by Kris Hiestand (568, previous best 471) and Duncan Ferber (676, previous best 646). The 277 rolled by Don Glasscock is tied for the 3rd-best game in league history!
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Duncan Ferber routed Division 1, while Tyler Hilker mopped up Division 2. David Parre walloped Division 3, and Travis Kleiner made quick work of Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about this bracket as it was a complete embarassment. In terms of overall points: Duncan Ferber calls the shots for Division 1; Nik Domann dominates Division 2; Phil Schroeder leads Division 3; and Travis Kleiner tops Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 7th-place Split Happens (hcp 40) will face 1st-place Dios Mios. Split Happens are expected to perform well, but split the series with Dios Mios; while Dios Mios are forecast to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 10th-place Seriously Handicapped (hcp 167) will tussle with 5th-place Sh!t, I Don't Know. The Handicapped might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while I Don't Know ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 9th-place Your Mom (hcp 68) will share a couple of pitchers with 4th-place Cannonbelt Run. Your Mom will likely have a bit of an off night and get swept; while Cannonbelt will probably hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Next up, on lanes 25&26, 2nd-place Seefeldt the Glasscock will throw some gutter balls with 6th-place The GameCox (hcp 147). The Glasscock might roll a little low, but split the series with the GameCox; while the GameCox ought to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 3rd-place Bad Newz Kennels will spend some quality time with 8th-place Ebowla (hcp 131). The Kennels are predicted to perform well and sweep the series; while Ebowla is anticipated to raise their average even as they endure a rough night.
