The Fall 2009 season is now underway, with ten teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Julie Benson-Grant picked up this week's high game (188) and series (418) for the women, while Ken M. Wilson earned this week's high game (257) and series (626) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 19 & 20: BILFs couldn't stop inappropriately groping Sweep The Leg, Johnny. Notwithstanding the leadership of Scott Murdock with his 447 series, BILFs got swept by Sweep The Leg. On the other half of the score sheet, Ken M. Wilson guided Sweep The Leg with his exceptional 626 (with a nod to #1 Power-Ranked John Boren) as they swept the competition. BILFs starts out in 10th place, while Sweep The Leg begins in 1st.

On lanes 21 & 22: No Pinheads had a rendezvous with Split Happens. Starring Dennis Laube with his 509 series, with props to #1 Head-to-Head bowler , No Pinheads collected 3 wins against Split Happens. Countering this, James Long commanded Split Happens with his 504 despite his team notching only a single win. No Pinheads begins the season in 2nd place, while Split Happens get rolling in 6th.

On lanes 23 & 24: WWJB had a delightful time with Chicks With Balls. Featuring Dave Winger with his 452 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Rich Foster, WWJB collected 3 wins against the Chicks. Conversely, Janelle (Laube) Lamar called the shots for the Chicks with her 386 despite her team notching only a single win. WWJB begins with 4th place, while the Chicks start off with 9th.

On lanes 25 & 26: Ebowla shared a few beers with Quick Release. Even though highlighted by the skills of Jason Carpio with his 517 series, Ebowla accomplished only 1 win against Quick Release. On the other side, Ryan Doll laid down the law in Quick Release with his 505 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Ebowla leaves the gate in 7th place, while Quick Release commences the season with 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: BOWLSH!T matched wits with Rollin' J's. In spite of top-billing by Kelly Sands with his 432 series, BOWLSH!T accomplished only 1 win against Rollin' J's. Meanwhile, Julie Benson-Grant shined in Rollin' J's with her 418 as her team took the series with 3 wins. BOWLSH!T 8th place, while Rollin' J's 5th.

The Tournament of Champions begins in 3 weeks. Here are how the divisions are shaping up so far:

• First, on lanes 19&20, 7th-place Ebowla (hcp 100) will face 2nd-place No Pinheads. Ebowla is expected to maintain their current strength as they just barely miss getting swept; while No Pinheads are forecast to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
• Moving to lanes 21&22, 10th-place BILFs will roll against 9th-place Chicks With Balls (hcp 54). BILFs might maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Chicks ought to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
• Then, over on lanes 23&24, 1st-place Sweep The Leg, Johnny will meet with 8th-place BOWLSH!T (estimated estimated hcp 175). Sweep The Leg will likely have a bit of an off night, yet still manage to win the series; while BOWLSH!T will probably hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
• Next up, on lanes 25&26, 4th-place WWJB will test their mettle against 5th-place Rollin' J's (hcp 36). WWJB might maintain their current strength as they and split the series with Rollin' J's; while Rollin' J's ought to raise their average while they keep the series tied.
