Fall 2006 Week 5 Robo-RecapThe fifth week of Fall 2006 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (209) and series (477) for the women, while Pete Forster earned this week's high game (277) and series (699) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Split Happens kept grabbing the balls of Manute Bowl. Though featuring Nick Allegri with his below-average 453 series, Split Happens accomplished only 1 win against Manute Bowl. Conversely, Andy McLeod laid down the law in Manute Bowl with his 403 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Split Happens remains in 2nd place, while Manute Bowl sinks 1 spot to 9th.

Brian Byfield's cross-lanes incident tonight might not have been quite this cool, but it was still impressive. On lanes 17 & 18: TBD alternated splits with Guttersluts. With top billing by David Parre with his above-average 490 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Jason Caton, TBD celebrated a clean sweep over the Guttersluts. . With the Guttersluts forfeiting, all TBD needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. Mission accomplished. TBD leaps 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while the Guttersluts remain in 10th.

On lanes 19 & 20: Bowlkake2 chucked gutter balls with Hez-Bowl-lah. Demonstrating the prowess of Tim Segraves with his above-average 532 series, Bowlkake2 collected 3 wins against Hez-Bowl-lah. Simultaneously, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Pete Forster shined in Hez-Bowl-lah with his miraculous 699 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowlkake2 remains in 6th place, while Hez-Bowl-lah remains in 4th.

On lanes 21 & 22: All Belts Are Off kept stealing sips of beer from New Balls, Old Rack. Despite being led by David Codding with his below-average 572 series, the Belt got swept by the Old Rack. Across the ball return, Ken M. Wilson mastered the Old Rack with his 556 as they swept the competition. All Belts Are Off plummets 2 spots in the standings to 3rd place, while the Old Rack jumps 2 spots to 1st.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Frickin' Ten Pins spent some quality time with I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter. Topped by John Richardson with his remarkable 537 series, Frickin' Ten Pins collected 3 wins against Not Gutter. Concurrently, Ryan Doll called the shots for Not Gutter with his above-average 514 despite his team notching only a single win. Frickin' Ten Pins remains in 7th place, while Not Gutter remains in 5th.

Bowlers sneaking into The 200 Club include: Angela Bradford (209), Bob Brunker (200), David Codding (204), Pete Forster (277,221,201), and Tim Segraves (209)

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1 (though Nick Allegri came closest), while John Richardson mopped up Division 2. Phil Schroeder whipped Division 3, and Jason Caton swept Division 4. Finally, Ken M. Wilson (Division 1) made quick work of this week's Interdivisional bracket. In terms of overall points: Nick Allegri holds the reins in Division 1; John Richardson runs the show in Division 2; Phil Schroeder is in the driver's seat in Division 3; and Andy McLeod calls the shots Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 15&16, 7th-place Frickin' Ten Pins (hcp 10) will meet with 6th-place Bowlkake2. Frickin' Ten Pins are expected to perform well and sweep the series; while Bowlkake2 is forecast to drop their average a bit while they endure a rough night.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 3rd-place All Belts Are Off will tussle with 2nd-place Split Happens (hcp 98). The Belt might maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while Split Happens ought to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 9th-place Manute Bowl will challenge 10th-place Guttersluts (hcp 52). Manute Bowl will likely maintain their current strength as they win the series; while the Guttersluts will probably hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Next up, on lanes 21&22, 8th-place TBD will spend some quality time with 5th-place I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter (hcp 23). TBD might perform well and win the series; while Not Gutter ought to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 1st-place New Balls, Old Rack will face 4th-place Hez-Bowl-lah (hcp 44). The Old Rack is predicted to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Hez-Bowl-lah is anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
