The tweltfh week of Spring 2003 saw one team climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (160) and series (424) for the women. As for the men, David Codding snagged this week's high game with a 209, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 554. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 17 & 18: D-Day sparred with Spanked. In spite of top-billing by Ken M. Wilson with his 499 series, D-Day accomplished only 1 win against Spanked. Countering this, Thomas Lin showed off in Spanked with his 518 as his team took the series with 3 wins. D-Day drops 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while Spanked remains in 6th.
On lanes 19 & 20: Bowlers of Mass Destruction matched wits with Canned Crabs. Though reinforced by Justin Strelow with his above-average 485 series, Mass Destruction accomplished only 1 win against the Crabs. While that was going down, Eric Lynch commanded the Crabs with his above-average 509 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Bowlers of Mass Destruction drops 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while the Crabs remain in 8th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Hulk Smash! entered a showdown to the death with Top Guns. Starring Carl Goetz with his 554 series, with kudos to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Kevin Myers as well as #1 Head-to-Head , the Hulk collected 3 wins against Top Guns. On the flipside, Pat Searcy dominated Top Guns with his 547 (with props to #1 Head-to-Head bowler ) despite his team notching only a single win. Hulk Smash! remains in 7th place, while Top Guns remain in 4th.
Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: When Push Comes To Shove traded lane malfunctions with The Good Sons. Topped by David Codding with his 542 series, the Shovers collected 3 wins against the Sons. In the midst of this, Steve Robinson laid down the law in the Sons with his 432 despite his team notching only a single win. When Push Comes To Shove leaps 2 spots in the standings to 1st place, while the Sons remain in 5th.
Bowlers slipping into The 200 Club include: David Codding (209), Pat Searcy (201), and Thomas Lin (202)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Demond Robinson conquered Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2 (though Ken M. Wilson came closest). Kevin Myers trounced Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Michelle Tollefson came closest). In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy governs Division 1; Ken M. Wilson dominates Division 2; Steve Robinson reigns over Division 3; and Marca Robinson is in the driver's seat in Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 17&18, 1st-place When Push Comes To Shove will tussle with 3rd-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction (hcp 30). The Shovers are expected to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Mass Destruction is forecast to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 19&20, 6th-place Spanked (hcp 18) will chuck some balls with 4th-place Top Guns. Spanked might maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Top Guns ought to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
- Then, over on lanes 21&22, 8th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 2) will match wits with 5th-place The Good Sons. The Crabs will likely maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while the Sons will probably hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Finally, on lanes 23&24, 7th-place Hulk Smash! (hcp 48) will battle 2nd-place D-Day. The Hulk is predicted to perform well and just barely win the series; while D-Day is anticipated to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
