Spring 2003 Week 11 Robo-RecapThe eleventh week of Spring 2003 saw one team climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Three bowlers set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Marca Robinson picked up this week's high game (140) and series (383) for the women. As for the men, Carl Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 217, and high series was earned by Jarrod Guthrie with a 604. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 17 & 18: Hulk Smash! couldn't stop inappropriately groping When Push Comes To Shove. Despite the strength of Carl Goetz with his 567 series, the Hulk accomplished only 1 win against the Shovers. Meanwhile, David Parre guided the Shovers with his 519 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Hulk Smash! drops 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while the Shovers remain in 3rd.

week11On lanes 19 & 20: Top Guns had a rendezvous with The Good Sons. In spite of the prowess of Pat Searcy with his 566 series, Top Guns accomplished only 1 win against the Sons. On the other half of the score sheet, Steve Robinson called the shots for the Sons with his outstanding 492 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Top Guns remains in 4th place, while the Sons remain in 5th.

On lanes 21 & 22: D-Day accepted a challenge by Bowlers of Mass Destruction. Highlighting the skills of Most Valuable Bowler Scott Murdock and his thrilling 513 series, D-Day split the series with Mass Destruction. On the adjacent lane, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Jarrod Guthrie dominated Mass Destruction with his phenomenal 604 as they matched their opponent in wins. D-Day remains in 1st place, while Mass Destruction remains in 2nd.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Spanked alternated splits with Canned Crabs. Featuring Jim Jones with his splendid 530 series, Spanked collected 3 wins against the Crabs. Across the ball return, Eric Lynch reigned supreme in the Crabs with his below-average 451 despite his team notching only a single win. Spanked leaps 2 spots in the standings to 6th place, while the Crabs sink 1 spot to 8th.

Bowlers slipping into The 200 Club include: Bob Brunker (200), Carl Goetz (217), Jarrod Guthrie (212), Jim Jones (213), and Ken M. Wilson (205)

A new personal high game was set tonight by Jim Jones (213, previous best 186). In addition, new personal best series were rolled by Scott Murdock (513, previous best 479), Jim Jones (530, previous best 501), and Jarrod Guthrie (604, previous best 527).

The 604 rolled by Jarrod Guthrie is the new 6th-best series in league history!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1 (though Pat Searcy came closest), while Jim Jones dominated Division 2. Steve Robinson shut down Division 3, and Scott Murdock mopped up Division 4. In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy tops Division 1; Ken M. Wilson runs the show in Division 2; Steve Robinson governs Division 3; and Marca Robinson leads Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 17&18, 1st-place D-Day (hcp 5) will socialize with 6th-place Spanked. D-Day is expected to perform well and win the series; while Spanked is forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Moving to lanes 19&20, 2nd-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction will face 8th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 100). Mass Destruction might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while the Crabs ought to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
  • Then, over on lanes 21&22, 7th-place Hulk Smash! (hcp 76) will throw some gutter balls with 4th-place Top Guns. The Hulk will likely roll decently, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Top Guns will probably hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 3rd-place When Push Comes To Shove will tussle with 5th-place The Good Sons (hcp 124). The Shovers are predicted to maintain their current strength as they and split the series with the Sons; while the Sons are anticipated to raise their average while they keep the series tied.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
