Spring 2003 Week 13 Robo-RecapThe thirteenth week of Spring 2003 saw two teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (190) and series (477) for the women. As for the men, Demond Robinson snagged this week's high game with a 225, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 551. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 17 & 18: When Push Comes To Shove had a rendezvous with Bowlers of Mass Destruction. Despite the strength of David Codding with his below-average 507 series, the Shovers got swept by Mass Destruction. On the other side, #1 Power-Ranked Justin Strelow guided Mass Destruction with his above-average 501 (along with props to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Michelle Tollefson) as they swept the competition. When Push Comes To Shove plummets 2 spots in the standings to 3rd place, while Mass Destruction jumps 2 spots to 1st.

week13On lanes 19 & 20: Spanked alternated splits with Top Guns. In spite of top-billing by Janelle (Laube) Lamar with her 409 series, Spanked got swept by Top Guns. Across the ball return, Pat Searcy commanded Top Guns with his 544 as they swept the competition. Spanked drops 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while Top Guns remain in 4th.

On lanes 21 & 22: Canned Crabs chucked gutter balls with The Good Sons. Headlined by Eric Lynch with his 482 series, the Crabs split the series with the Sons. Meanwhile, Steve Robinson mastered the Sons with his 425 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Michelle Tollefson) as they matched their opponent in wins. Canned Crabs leap 2 spots in the standings to 6th place, while the Sons remain in 5th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Hulk Smash! traded lane malfunctions with D-Day. Notwithstanding the leadership of Carl Goetz with his 551 series, the Hulk accomplished only 1 win against D-Day. As for the opposition, Demond Robinson ruled D-Day with his above-average 521 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Hulk Smash! drops 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while D-Day remains in 2nd.

Bowlers paying far too much for well vodka at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (200), Demond Robinson (225), Ken M. Wilson (200), and Pat Searcy (212)

A new personal best series was rolled tonight by Justin Strelow (501, previous best 498).

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1 (though Carl Goetz came closest), while Janelle (Laube) Lamar rolled her ass to the top of Division 2. Jason Carpio spanked Division 3, and Tracey Robertson clobbered Division 4. In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy and Carl Goetz reign over Division 1 in a tie; Ken M. Wilson runs the show in Division 2; Steve Robinson calls the shots Division 3; and Tracey Robertson holds the reins in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 17&18, 6th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 102) will chill with 2nd-place D-Day. The Crabs are expected to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while D-Day is forecast to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Moving to lanes 19&20, 5th-place The Good Sons (hcp 52) will spend some quality time with 8th-place Hulk Smash!. The Sons might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the Hulk ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
  • Then, over on lanes 21&22, 1st-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction (hcp 10) will share a couple of pitchers with 7th-place Spanked. Mass Destruction will likely roll decently and win the series; while Spanked will probably hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 4th-place Top Guns will throw some gutter balls with 3rd-place When Push Comes To Shove (hcp 2). Top Guns are predicted to perform well and win the series; while the Shovers are anticipated to drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
