The tenth week of Spring 2003 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Freda Schroeder and Janelle (Laube) Lamar both tied for this week's high game for the women with a 165, and women's high series was bagged by Freda Schroeder with a 447. As for the men, Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (233) and series (601). Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 17 & 18: Top Guns had a rendezvous with Canned Crabs. Though featuring Pat Searcy with his above-average 589 series, Top Guns accomplished only 1 win against the Crabs. Countering this, Eric Lynch ruled the Crabs with his below-average 461 (along with kudos to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Ray Haynes, as well as #1 Head-to-Head ) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Top Guns drop 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while the Crabs remain in 7th.
On lanes 19 & 20: D-Day couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of When Push Comes To Shove. While headlined by Demond Robinson with his above-average 540 series, D-Day accomplished only 1 win against the Shovers. Simultaneously, Dennis Laube guided the Shovers with his above-average 496 as his team took the series with 3 wins. D-Day remains in 1st place, while the Shovers move 1 spot to 3rd.
On lanes 21 & 22: Spanked accepted a challenge by Hulk Smash!. Led by #1 Head-to-Head Bill Krejci and his remarkable 588 series, Spanked celebrated a clean sweep over the Hulk. Conversely, Carl Goetz laid down the law in the Hulk with his above-average 601 despite his team getting swept. Spanked remains in 8th place, while the Hulk sinks 1 spot to 6th.
Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: The Good Sons kept stealing sips of beer from Bowlers of Mass Destruction. Blessed by Steve Robinson with his amazing 521 series, the Sons split the series with Mass Destruction. Across the ball return, Corey Weinfurt shined in Mass Destruction with his 481 as they matched their opponent in wins. The Good Sons leap 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Mass Destruction remains in 2nd.
Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Bill Krejci (218), Carl Goetz (233,204), Demond Robinson (215), and Pat Searcy (212,222)
A new personal high game was set tonight by Carl Goetz (233, previous best 223). The 233 rolled by Carl Goetz is tied for the 8th-best men's game in league history!
The 601 rolled by Carl Goetz is tied for the 6th-best series in league history!
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Bill Krejci won Division 1, while Dennis Laube spanked Division 2. Steve Robinson trounced Division 3, and Ray Haynes shut down Division 4. In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy holds the reins in Division 1; Ken M. Wilson calls the shots for Division 2; Shannon Myers governs Division 3; and Marca Robinson tops Division 4.

- First, on lanes 17&18, 6th-place Hulk Smash! (hcp 78) will tussle with 3rd-place When Push Comes To Shove. The Hulk is expected to perform well, yet still manage to get swept; while the Shovers are forecast to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.

- Finally, on lanes 23&24, 8th-place Spanked will chill with 7th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 112). Spanked is predicted to perform well and sweep the series; while the Crabs are anticipated to raise their average even as they endure a rough night.
