The thirteenth week of Spring 2006 saw two teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (195) and series (527) for the women. As for the men, Ken M. Wilson snagged this week's high game with a 236, and high series was earned by David Codding with a 627. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 21 & 22: Tatonka had some one-on-one time with Bora Bora. Regardless of the star power of Greg Franklin with his above-average 407 series, Tatonka got swept by Bora Bora. Simultaneously, Freda Schroeder ruled Bora Bora with her fantastic 527 as they swept the competition. Tatonka remains in 8th place, while Bora Bora jumps 2 spots to 3rd.
On lanes 23 & 24: I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! matched wits with Yo Mama. Showcasing Seth Gunderson with his above-average 562 series, the Belt collected 3 wins against Yo Mama. On the other side, Andy Metzler commanded Yo Mama with his below-average 488 despite his team notching only a single win. I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! remains in 1st place, while Yo Mama sinks 1 spot to 7th.
On lanes 25 & 26: Split Happens couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Guttersluts. Although blessed by #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Ryan Doll and his astounding 591 series, Split Happens missed getting swept by Guttersluts by just one pin. On the adjacent lane, Travis Kleiner called the shots for Guttersluts with his staggering 486 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Ariel Waldman) as his team took the series with 3.5 wins. Split Happens drop 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while Guttersluts move 1 spot to 6th.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Sweeter Than Yoohoo accepted a challenge by Bowl Movement. With Yoohoo forfeiting, all Bowl Movement needed to do was roll within 50 pins of their combined team average each game. Mission accomplished. In their battle to get within at least 40 pins of average, David Codding showed off in Bowl Movement with his above-average 627 as they swept the competition. Sweeter Than Yoohoo drops 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Bowl Movement remains in 2nd.
Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: David Codding (218,203,206), Ken M. Wilson (236), Rich DeYoung (211), Ryan Doll (202,211), Seth Gunderson (213), and Travis Kleiner (211)
A new personal high game was set tonight by Andrea Wilson (168, previous best 160).
Adding to the excitement, the 527 rolled by Freda Schroeder is this season's new high series among women.
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Ken M. Wilson staked a claim for the Iron Throne in Division 1, while David Codding vanquished Division 2. Nobody claimed victory in Division 3 (though Scott Murdock came closest), and Ryan Doll walloped Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket (though Scott Murdock (Division ) came closest). In terms of overall points: Ken M. Wilson governs Division 1; David Codding reigns over Division 2; John Richardson runs the show in Division 3; and Ryan Doll holds the reins in Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 21&22, 4th-place Split Happens (hcp 189) will share a couple of pitchers with 2nd-place Bowl Movement. Split Happens are expected to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Bowl Movement is forecast to drop their average a bit even as they rack up a sweep.
- Moving to lanes 23&24, 6th-place Guttersluts (hcp 216) will socialize with 5th-place Sweeter Than Yoohoo. Guttersluts might perform well, but split the series with Yoohoo; while Yoohoo ought to drop their average a bit while they keep the series tied.
- Then, over on lanes 25&26, 3rd-place Bora Bora (hcp 72) will test their mettle against 1st-place I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka!. Bora Bora will likely maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Belt will probably hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 7th-place Yo Mama will roll against 8th-place Tatonka (hcp 16). Yo Mama is predicted to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Tatonka is anticipated to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
