The Spring 2007 season is now underway, with ten teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. One bowler set a new personal best series. Freda Schroeder landed this week's high game for the women with a 170, and women's high series was bagged by Angela Bradford with a 465. As for the men, Carl Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 234, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz and Pat Searcy, who tied with a 595. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Oily Balls accepted a challenge by T.B.D.. Highlighting the skills of Pat Searcy with his 595 series, Oily Balls celebrated a clean sweep over T.B.D.. On the flipside, Steve Kiernan drew the spotlight in T.B.D. with his 528 despite his team getting swept. Oily Balls starts out in 1st place, while T.B.D. gets going with 10th.
On lanes 17 & 18: Doll's Balls deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of Those 4 Bowlers. With top billing by Ryan Doll with his 487 series, Doll's Balls split the series with 4 Bowlers. On the other side, Seth Gunderson called the shots for 4 Bowlers with his 470 as they matched their opponent in wins. Doll's Balls begins with 5th place, while 4 Bowlers begin in 6th.
On lanes 19 & 20: Unstoppabowl chucked gutter balls with X9XX. Blessed by #1 Head-to-Head Cory Chorpenning and his 584 series, Unstoppabowl split the series with X9XX. Meanwhile, Dave Hickerson laid down the law in X9XX with his 424 as they matched their opponent in wins. Unstoppabowl leaves the gate in 4th place, while X9XX starts off with 7th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Guttersluts had a rendezvous with Churn and Burn. Topped by John Boren with his 518 series, Guttersluts collected 2.5 wins against Churn and Burn. In the meantime, Jason Carpio shined in Churn and Burn with his 502 despite his team losing the matchup with only 1.5 victories. Guttersluts gets underway in 3rd place, while Churn and Burn commences the season with 8th.
Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: King Pins matched wits with Frickin' Ten Pin. Regardless of the star power of Daniel Bolton with his 376 series, King Pins accomplished only 1 win against Ten Pin. Across the ball return, #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Carl Goetz oversaw Ten Pin with his 595 as his team took the series with 3 wins. King Pins 9th place, while Ten Pin 2nd.
