By now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Fall 2008 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The ninth week saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (188) and series (461) for the women, while Cory Chorpenning earned this week's high game (254) and series (681) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: WWJB alternated splits with Bowl Movement. Though featuring Eric Summers with his 334 series, WWJB got swept by Bowl Movement. On the flipside, Patty Morrisey shined in Bowl Movement with her above-average 366 as they swept the competition. WWJB drops 1 spot in the standings to 10th place, while Bowl Movement jumps 2 spots to 4th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Ain't No Sh!t entered a showdown to the death with Livin' On A Spare. Blessed by Cory Chorpenning with his above-average 681 series, Ain't No Sh!t celebrated a clean sweep over Livin' On A Spare. In the meantime, Lindsay Jamis ruled Livin' On A Spare with her miraculous 401 despite her team getting swept. Ain't No Sh!t remains in 1st place, while Livin' On A Spare sinks 1 spot to 8th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Dave and the Wingers chucked gutter balls with Spare The Rod, Split The Kitty. Despite the strength of Rob Kaszuba with his astonishing 508 series, the Wingers accomplished only 1 win against Spare The Rod. Conversely, Will Jeter called the shots for Spare The Rod with his 476 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Dave and the Wingers leap 1 spot in the standings to 9th place, while Spare The Rod remains in 5th.
On lanes 25 & 26: Bad Newz Kennels celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with Is This Billable?. In spite of the prowess of #1 Head-to-Head Dennis Laube and his dazzling 564 series, the Kennels got swept by Is This Billable?. On the other side, Ryan Doll guided Is This Billable? with his above-average 609 (with a nod to #1 Power-Ranked Ben Wetteborn) as they swept the competition. Bad Newz Kennels plummet 2 spots in the standings to 6th place, while Is This Billable? moves 1 spot to 7th.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Chico's Bail Bonds spent some quality time with Dios Mios. Regardless of the star power of Ken M. Wilson with his splendid 633 series, Chico's accomplished only 1 win against Dios Mios. While that was going down, Bill Krejci dominated Dios Mios with his 549 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Lefty John Boren) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Chico's Bail Bonds remains in 2nd place, while Dios Mios remain in 3rd.
Bowlers paying far too much for well vodka at The 200 Club include: Bill Krejci (223), Cory Chorpenning (230,254), Dennis Laube (211), Duncan Ferber (213,244), Ken M. Wilson (233,226), Kendall Kukowski (201), and Ryan Doll (210,221)

Nobody claimed victory in Division 3 (though Tom Finley came closest), and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Dave Winger came closest). Finally, Cory Chorpenning (Division 1) rolled his ass to the top of this week's Interdivisional bracket. Finally, Dennis Laube (Division 2) rolled his ass to the top of this week's Interdivisional bracket. Finally, Amanda Cox Jeter (Division 4) rolled her ass to the top of this week's Interdivisional bracket. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz dominates Division 1; Aubrey Moren runs the show in Division 2; Travis Kleiner leads Division 3; and Amanda Cox Jeter reigns over Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 1st-place Ain't No Sh!t will share a couple of pitchers with 2nd-place Chico's Bail Bonds (hcp 89). Ain't No Sh!t is expected to have the bottom drop out of their averages as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Chico's are forecast to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 3rd-place Dios Mios will test their mettle against 4th-place Bowl Movement (hcp 56). Dios Mios might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Bowl Movement ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 5th-place Spare The Rod, Split The Kitty (hcp 67) will chill with 6th-place Bad Newz Kennels. Spare The Rod will likely roll decently, yet still manage to get swept; while the Kennels will probably raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
- Next up, on lanes 25&26, 7th-place Is This Billable? will roll against 8th-place Livin' On A Spare (hcp 75). Is This Billable? might maintain their current strength as they and split the series with Livin' On A Spare; while Livin' On A Spare ought to raise their average while they keep the series tied.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 9th-place Dave and the Wingers will throw some gutter balls with 10th-place WWJB (hcp 13). The Wingers are predicted to perform well, but split the series with WWJB; while WWJB is anticipated to raise their average while they keep the series tied.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)

FROM THE GUTTER (GUTTER QUOTE)
"Summers, Emily, and I had a three way that last frame. Err, I mean, we were all three in the gutter. Dammit, you know what I mean!"
Patty Morrisey, with whom the seed for the idea has now been planted.
