Only One Week Left

Posted by ScooterJ May 3, 2022 Spring 2022, Week 15 View Score Sheets

Before we get into this week's results, we have a few housekeeping items to cover for next week's final Spring 2022 bowling session:

  1. Ian Goetz and Jo Carreia remain the only subs who are allowed next week.
  2. If you haven't done so already, head over to the Voting page to cast your vote for this season's People's Choice Awards.
  3. This Tuesday bowling will be preceded with a free buffet, so come hungry!
  4. After all teams have finished bowling (necessary to wait so we know who won what) we will hand out cash prizes. Everybody is winning something so make sure you stick around after you are done bowling. If you can't, designate someone to collect your winnings for you.
  5. The Fall 2022 season will begin on Tuesday, August 23rd. We will reach out to everyone in July to find out who is coming back and start getting new teams formed.

Moving on to this past Tuesday's results: JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (229) and series (488) for the women, both new personal bests! As for the men, Dennis Walling and Ian Goetz both tied for this week's high game with a 236, and high series was earned by Ian Goetz with a 589. Meanwhile, the Tournament of Champions is officially down to its final eight bowlers, who will face each other next week competing for two cash prizes! Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 1 & 2: In a rather lopsided matchup, the scrappy underdogs Flamboyant Fluffykins faced a challenge by the angry and wrathful ChuckaScoot. Despite being propelled by Dustin Schmeltz with his 490 series, Flamboyant accomplished only 1 win against Scoot Chuckers. Conversely, Ian Goetz with his better-than-normal 589 series took the lead among Scoot Chuckers as his team took the match with 3 wins. Flamboyant Fluffykins remains in 4th place, while Scoot Chuckers remain in 1st.

On lanes 3 & 4: Splits & Giggles traded lane malfunctions with The Wally McWallingtons. Tiured of losing so much, Clayton Burrow led the McWallingtons to a game 1 victory. Also tired of losing so much, AJ did the same for game 2. But then #1 Power-Ranked JoAnne Barber decided she, too, was also tired of losing so much and singlehandedly too both game 3 and total series with her stunning 229 game and her mesmerizing 488 series, Giggles split the series with The McWallingtons. Countering this, AJ Hofmann with his slightly-off 437 series oversaw The McWallingtons as they matched their opponent in wins. Splits & Giggles remains in 6th place, while The McWallingtons remain in 5th.

Finally, down on lanes 5 & 6: Glory Bowl fought tooth and nail to hold onto their slim lead over Going, Going, BALD!. Highlighting the skills of Kent Harms with his 498 series, along with a major contribution by #1 Head-to-Head and Most Valuable Bowler Nicholas Knight, Glory split the series with Baldness. Over on the other side, Dennis Walling with his 555 series called the shots for Baldness as they matched their opponent in wins. Glory Bowl remains in 2nd place, while Baldness remain in 3rd.

Bowlers who crashed the party at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (203), Dennis Walling (236), Dustin Schmeltz (206), Ian Goetz (236), and JoAnne Barber (229)

A new personal high game was set tonight by JoAnne Barber (229, previous best 191). In addition, a new personal best series was rolled by JoAnne Barber (488, previous best 444).

JoAnne Barber earned both this season's women's high game and series with her 229 and 488, respectively.

The 229 rolled by JoAnne Barber is tied for the 9th-best women's game in league history!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Matthew Taylor whipped Division 1, while Kent Harms decimated Division 2. Chris Windham won Division 3, and Nicholas Knight walloped Division 4. Congratulations to our division champions! The following eight people will compete next week for the big prize! Division 1: Matthew Taylor and Jonathan Vigliaturo. Division 2: Dustin Schmeltz and Ben Spencer. Division 3: JoAnne Barber and Chris Windham. Division 4: Collin Lavery and Brandon Martinez.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 1&2, 6th-place Splits & Giggles (hcp 46) will roll against 5th-place The Wally McWallingtons. Giggles are expected to perform well and win the series; while The McWallingtons are forecast to drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.
  • Moving to lanes 3&4, 4th-place Flamboyant Fluffykins (hcp 124) will tussle with 3rd-place Going, Going, BALD!. Flamboyant might roll a little low and get swept; while Baldness ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
  • Finally, on lanes 5&6, 2nd-place Glory Bowl (hcp 123) will face 1st-place ChuckaScoot. Glory is predicted to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Scoot Chuckers are anticipated to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.

*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
