NOT NotContra

Posted by ScooterJ November 22, 2017 Fall 2017, Week 14 View Score Sheets

With only one week remaining before the final position round, only three teams are mathematically still in the hunt for this season's championship. But a chant of "NOT NotContra" has been gaining momentum, that may or may not, have started on lanes 1 and 2 tonight.

First up, on lanes 1 & 2: Less Terra Bowl and Mustache Cash Stash took turns waiting on Scott Murdock to remember it was his turn. Thanks to Ben Spencer and his 454 series, Less Terra Bowl overcame Scoot's continuing slump to squeak out 1 win against Mustache Cash Stash. Meanwhile, led by Michael Mead and his 544 series, Mustache Cash Stash broke their curse of winning the first game and losing the rest by adding on 3 wins. Less Terra Bowl remains in 5th place, while Mustache Cash Stash remains in 4th.

On lanes 3 & 4: Brooklyn Strikers tried to take the Nintendo controller away from NotContra. Led by Doug Bonney and his 538 series, Brooklyn Strikers managed only 1 win against NotContra. Meanwhile, led by Seth Gunderson and his 595 series, NotContra secured 3 wins. Brooklyn Strikers remains in 6th place, while NotContra remains in 2nd but is in search of a new pearl necklace.

On lanes 5 & 6: DB's Rusty Nuts faced off against The Alt-Left. Led by Josh Rothermel and his new best 453 series (including a new high game of 162), DB's Rusty Nuts shook the rust off one nut to earn a single win against The Alt-Left. Meanwhile, led by this week's MVB and #1H2H Bowler Lefty Carl Goetz and his 476 series, The Alt-Left declined further comment and took 3 wins while rushing out the door before they could learn some new "turkey-hump" moves from Jeremy Varnell. DB's Rusty Nuts remains in 10th place, while The Alt-Left remains in 3rd.

On lanes 7 & 8: Bowl Yer Ballz Off did battle with Holy Sandbaggers, Batman!. Led by Rob Kaszuba and his 426 series, Bowl Yer Ballz Off was unable to topple the flood wall and got swept. Meanwhile, led by who you don't want to be playing in the TOC, Dennis Laube and his 552 series, Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! piled up 4 more wins with a clean sweep. Bowl Yer Ballz Off remains in 8th place, while Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! remains in 1st.

Finally, down on lanes 9 & 10: Split It & Hit It sparred with Roll, Drink, Repeat. Led by Michael Smith and his 405 series, Split It & Hit It managed only 1 win against Roll, Drink, Repeat. Meanwhile, led by this week's #1 Power Bowler Sean Miller and his new personal high 552 series, Roll, Drink, Repeat captured 3 wins. Split It & Hit It remains in 9th place, while Roll, Drink, Repeat remains in 7th.

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about Division 1 as it was a complete embarassment, while Sean Miller staked a claim for the Iron Throne in Division 2. Josh Rothermel shut down Division 3, and Lefty Carl Goetz creamed Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket (though Freda Schroeder (Division ) came closest). In terms of overall points: Aaron Barber holds the reins in Division 1; Sean Simmons dominates Division 2; Freda Schroeder reigns over Division 3; and Lefty Carl Goetz leads Division 4.

Bowlers entering The 200 Club include: Dennis Laube (212), Michael Gordon (200), Michael Mead (222), Sean Miller (200), and Seth Gunderson (215)
