Spring 2017 Kickoff!

Posted by ScooterJ January 24, 2017 Spring 2017, Week 1 View Score Sheets

Our 35th season kicked off with what could very well turn out to be the most fun, least competitive season we have had in years. A dozen rookies make up more than a third of the league, so anything goes!

Moving to a different set of lanes didn't work, we still have lane malfunctions. :(

First up, on lanes 1 & 2 47-48: After a damaged data cable forced a detour to the only other open pair of lanes in the building, Frankee's Uncles were finally able to do battle with Trump's Toupee. Led by Carl Goetz and his 573 series, Frankee's Uncles secured a clean sweep over Trump's Toupee. Meanwhile, Dustin Schmeltz topped the Toupee with a 477 series, which is the biggest series ever in all of the series. Frankee's Uncles begins the sesason in 1st place, while Trump's Toupee starts in 7th.

On lanes 3 & 4: A half-prebowled Omaha Hambone exchanged nervous glances with Holy Sandbaggers, Batman!. Led by a finally-walking but still needing one more back surgery Kody Karnes and his 600 series, Omaha Hambone split the series with Holy Sandbaggers, Batman!. Aubrey Moren led the Bat-half of the equation with his 523 series. Omaha Hambone starts in 4th place, while Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! starts in 5th.

On lanes 5 & 6: FYWFK had a very slow and sensual rendezvous with Ebowla. Led by AJ Hofmann (a phrase you may see a lot this season) and his 442 series , FYWFK managed only 1 win against Ebowla. Meanwhile, Sean Miller infected Ebowla with a 481 series, contracting 3 wins. FYWFK begins in 6th place, while Ebowla begins in 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 7 & 8: Terra Bowler took turns kicking the ball return with Smithereens. Led by Ben Spencer and his 458 series, Terra Bowler secured a clean sweep over Smithereens. Which wasn't too hard, since Smithereens doesn't actually join until next week. Terra Bowler begins in 2nd place, while Smithereens is technically in 8th.

This week in Tournament of Champions, nothing happened because it doesn't start until Valentine's Day.

Bowlers entering The 200 Club this week include: Bob Brunker (205), Kody Karnes (207,211), and Michael Mead (230)

See you next week!

"The election was over 2 months ago and Carl still won't shut up about how I voted wrong. Can you please send him and his ilk as far away from me as you can?"

Freda Schroeder, to the front counter, just before teams 1 and 2 were sent to lanes 47&48.
