Split Sisters Split It and Swept It

Posted by ScooterJ May 3, 2016 Spring 2016, Week 14 View Score Sheets

The Split Sisters utilized the power of high squeaky sounds of excitement to eke out their first sweep of the season! How did everyone else do? Read on to find out...The last time Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! faced 404: Team Name Not Found, a surprising upset resulted in a 3-game victory for 404. Tonight the Sandbaggers were hungry to settle the score. So hungry, in fact, they brought tupperware to take home the leftovers. Unfortunately Aubrey Moren was one of two bowlers wearing an apparently cursed shirt and lead his team with an uncharacteristic 501 series. This gave Team Name Not Found yet another unexpected 3-game victory via Sean Simmons and his 553 series. In fact, the Sandbaggers bagged their one win by merely one pin. Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! remains in 2nd place, while 404: Team Name Not Found moves up 1 spot to 4th.

This week's abandoned goodies. The towel makes sense. But... the empty cake holder??? Couldn't you have at least left a cake in it too????

On lanes 43 & 44: Glory Bowl hoped that a beached Seth Gunderson would give them a shot to do some damage to Fallop Ian. But they didn't count on John Boren pulling a 623 series out of his pocket and shoving it in their faces for a 3-1 victory. Andrew Finger let Glody Bowl to their one win with a 556 series. Glory Bowl drops 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Fallop Ian remains in 1st.

On lanes 45 & 46: 3/4 of the Split Sisters received a visit from 3/4 of Split It & Hit It. And what a visit it was. Each time the bowling alley sounded like it was infested with field mice, we all knew the Sisters were doing more damage to Split It. Led by Michelle Shoemaker and her 425 series, Split Sisters secured their first clean sweep of the season. Meanwhile, Russell Bingham let Split It in their losing effort with a 526 series. Split Sisters remains in 8th place, while Split It & Hit It remains in 7th, and Split Sisters is no longer mathematically locked into 8th. Adding to the overall splittiness, Split Sisters and Split It & Hit It are now split at 4-4 against each other for the season.

The apparently cursed shirt

Finally, down on lanes 47 & 48: Bowies In Space learned the benefit of having the #1 power ranked bowler on their team, as well as the anchor of the opposition wearing the same cursed shirt as Aubrey. Led by Dustin Schmeltz and his 605 series, Bowies In Space secured 3 wins Bowlgasmic. Kody Karnes, wearing a more vintage version of the shirt, topped Bowlgasmic with a 578 series but could only secure 1 win. Bowies In Space remains in 3rd place, while Bowlgasmic remains in 6th.

This week in Tournament of Champions, Phil Schroeder won Division 1, just barely putting him in contention for the final round in 2 weeks. Same story with Angela Bradford in Division 2. Sean Simmons continues clobbering Division 3, and Michelle Shoemaker pulled into 3rd place for Division 4. Next week is the last regular week of the tournament before the top 8 bowlers head to the final series!Bowlers who forgot to bring cake to the The 200 Club this week include: Aaron Barber (234), Carl Goetz (213), Dustin Schmeltz (224,214), John Boren (257), Jonathan Vigliaturo (216), Kody Karnes (226), Russell Bingham (210), and Sean Simmons (201)Most of you took care of it this week, but for anyone who didn't, please remember to pay the balance of your bowling fees this next Tuesday. See you all then!
