Some Taxing Matchups

Posted by ScooterJ April 14, 2015 Spring 2015, Week 13 View Score Sheets

With Tax Day looming tomorrow, some bowlers probably wish they'd stay home to work on their taxes rather than suffer the beatings they took on the lanes. Before we begin, remember that all bowling fees for the season (17 weeks worth) need to be paid in full by next week. So Scoot will be IRSing all over your asses next week after Uncle Sam is done having his way with you this week.First up, on lanes 41 & 42: Ballz Out hoped to extend their recent slate of wins with some victories against Squirtin' Tunas. Led by Cliff Barendsen and his 516 series, Ballz Out started out looking like they were going to do it again after taking game 1. But Aaron Barber turned things around with his 573 series taking the rest of the series and knocking the Ballz Out of their hopes to leave last place tonight. Ballz remains in 8th place, while Squirtin' Tunas remains in 5th.

On lanes 43 & 44: A once again skeleton-crew Gimme Headpin faced off against 10 Pins 10 Balls. Despite leading the matchup with a 672 series, Kody Karnes was able to only lead Gimme Headpin to one victory. With a 592 series, Phil Schroeder helped 10 Pins 10 Balls secure 3 wins. Gimme Headpin remains in 2nd place, while 10 Pins 10 Balls remains in 4th.

On lanes 45 & 46: Amazeballs faced off against a fully-restored The Pin is Mightier. Led by Ryan Doll and his #1 Power Ranked 681 series, Amazeballs claimed 3 wins against The Pin is Mightier. "Led" by Scott Murdock and his 484 series, and despite an MVB performance by Dennis Cummings, The Pin is Mightier could only secure 1 win. Amazeballs remains in 1st place, while The Pin is Mightier remains in 7th and is dangerously close to dropping to 8th.

Finally, down on lanes 47 & 48: Split It & Hit It faced off against Sponsored By Rogue. Led by Todd Way and his 572 series, Split It & Hit It split the series with Sponsored By Rogue. Led by Ian Goetz and his 642 series, Sponsored By Rogue ended in a stalemate. Split It & Hit It remains in 6th place, while Sponsored By Rogue remains in 3rd. By the way, game 2 was Split It's best game so far this season.

This week in Tournament of Champions, Ryan Doll won Division 1 and moved into 2nd place. Dennis Laube won Division 2 has also taken 2nd place. Freda Schroeder won Division 3 and now has victory of that division locked up. Finally, Dennis Cummings won Division 4 but will not be able to place in that division.Bowlers who pushed this season past Spring 2013 to give this season the 2nd-most 200+ games ever (with the #1 spot within reach!) include The 200 Club this week include: Aaron Barber (202,200), Aubrey Moren (218), Brian Coe (248,232), Carl Goetz (242), Cliff Barendsen (203), Dan Imperial (200), Dennis Blake (212), Freda Schroeder (204), Ian Goetz (247), Kody Karnes (220,204,248), Phil Schroeder (203,230), Ryan Doll (235,214,232), Seth Gunderson (213), and Todd Way (200,212)See you next Tuesday!
