Spring 2010 Week 3 Robo-RecapThe third week of Spring 2010 saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Two bowler roll a new personal best game. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (215) and series (588) for the women. As for the men, Carl Goetz and Ryan Doll both tied for this week's high game with a 225, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 642. And the Tournament of Champions divisions are now set, ready for one-on-one action to begin next week! Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 25 & 26: Bowlumpkin had a rendezvous with Scoot Gave Us The Schlitz. Regardless of the star power of Dave Winger with his spectacular 470 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler AJ Taylor, Bowlumpkin accomplished only 1 win against the Schlitz. On the adjacent lane, Bob Brunker guided the Schlitz with his above-average 554 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Bowlumpkin drops 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while the Schlitz jumps 3 spots to 4th.

week3On lanes 27 & 28: Empire Strikes Back tussled with The Prak Attack. Headlined by #1 Head-to-Head Carl Goetz and his powerful 642 series, the Empire collected 3 wins against the Attack. Conversely, Shane Pfaffly drew the spotlight in the Attack with his above-average 445 despite his team notching only a single win. Empire Strikes Back leaps 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while the Attack remains in 6th.

On lanes 29 & 30: Lil' Devils took turns kicking the ball return with No Pinheads. Despite being led by Andrea Caudillo with her above-average 420 series, Lil' Devils got swept by the Pinheads. Concurrently, #1 Power-Ranked Freda Schroeder called the shots for the Pinheads with her stupendous 588 as they swept the competition. Lil' Devils plummet 3 spots in the standings to 8th place, while the Pinheads move 1 spot to 1st.

Finally, down on lanes 31 & 32: 3 Pin Moon had a delightful time with Little Lebowski Urban Achievers. Notwithstanding the leadership of Ryan Doll with his 574 series, 3 Pin Moon accomplished only 1 win against the Urban Achievers. In the midst of this, Sarah Sauer took the lead in the Urban Achievers with her above-average 442 as her team took the series with 3 wins. 3 Pin Moon drops 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while the Urban Achievers remain in 3rd.

Bowlers who stripped naked and shared a cozy hottub together in a back room at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (207,225,210), Freda Schroeder (215), Ken M. Wilson (201), Ryan Doll (225), and Shane Pfaffly (224)

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 25&26, 1st-place No Pinheads will share a couple of pitchers with 3rd-place Little Lebowski Urban Achievers (hcp 164). The Pinheads are expected to roll a little low, yet still manage to sweep the series; while the Urban Achievers are forecast to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Moving to lanes 27&28, 8th-place Lil' Devils (hcp 142) will throw some gutter balls with 2nd-place 3 Pin Moon. Lil' Devils might perform well and just barely win the series; while 3 Pin Moon ought to drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.
  • Then, over on lanes 29&30, 7th-place Empire Strikes Back will meet with 5th-place Bowlumpkin (hcp 145). The Empire will likely maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Bowlumpkin will probably raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
  • Finally, on lanes 31&32, 6th-place The Prak Attack (hcp 123) will test their mettle against 4th-place Scoot Gave Us The Schlitz. The Attack is predicted to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the Schlitz is anticipated to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
