The fifth week of Fall 2007 saw two teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Two bowlers set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Jennifer Seefeldt picked up this week's high game (176) and series (494) for the women, while Cory Chorpenning earned this week's high game (279) and series (676) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Dios Mios chucked gutter balls with The GameCox. Headlined by #1 Head-to-Head Bill Krejci and his above-average 627 series, Dios Mios collected 3 wins against the GameCox. While that was going down, Jason Carpio oversaw the GameCox with his above-average 526 despite his team notching only a single win. Dios Mios remains in 3rd place, while the GameCox sinks 1 spot to 6th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Ebowla spent some quality time with Seriously Handicapped. Featuring Travis Kleiner with his above-average 429 series, Ebowla collected 3 wins against the Handicapped. In the meantime, Tyler Hilker laid down the law in the Handicapped with his (either injured, sick, or sandbagging) 397 despite his team notching only a single win. Ebowla leaps 2 spots in the standings to 7th place, while the Handicapped remains in 10th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Split Happens took turns kicking the ball return with Bad Newz Kennels. Notwithstanding the leadership of Nick Allegri with his below-average 460 series, Split Happens accomplished only 1 win against the Kennels. Concurrently, Carl Goetz commanded the Kennels with his 566 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Phil Schroeder) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Split Happens drop 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while the Kennels remain in 2nd.
On lanes 25 & 26: Cannonbelt Run spent a romantic evening with Seefeldt the Glasscock. Regardless of the star power of Seth Gunderson with his above-average 541 series, Cannonbelt accomplished only 1 win against the Glasscock. As for the opposition, Don Glasscock guided the Glasscock with his 668 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Cannonbelt Run remains in 4th place, while the Glasscock remains in 1st.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Sh!t, I Don't Know celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with Your Mom. Reinforced by #1 Power-Ranked Cory Chorpenning and his breathtaking 676 series, I Don't Know collected 3 wins against Your Mom. On the flipside, Ryan Doll took the lead in Your Mom with his 550 despite his team notching only a single win. Sh!t, I Don't Know leaps 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Your Mom sinks 1 spot to 9th.

The 279 rolled by Cory Chorpenning is tied for the 2nd-best game in league history!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Steve Kiernan crushed Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2 (though Nik Domann came closest). Seth Gunderson dominated Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though John Kroenke came closest). Finally, Jason Carpio (Division 2) topped this week's Interdivisional bracket. In terms of overall points: Steve Kiernan and Duncan Ferber top Division 1 in a tie; Nik Domann dominates Division 2; Jennifer Seefeldt and Seth Gunderson are both in the driver's seat (on each other's laps?) in Division 3 in a tie; and Travis Kleiner calls the shots for Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 5th-place Sh!t, I Don't Know will share a couple of pitchers with 8th-place Split Happens (hcp 102). I Don't Know is expected to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Split Happens are forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 4th-place Cannonbelt Run will match wits with 3rd-place Dios Mios (hcp 12). Cannonbelt might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Dios Mios ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 6th-place The GameCox will socialize with 10th-place Seriously Handicapped (hcp 71). The GameCox will likely maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while the Handicapped will probably hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Next up, on lanes 25&26, 7th-place Ebowla (hcp 37) will spend some quality time with 9th-place Your Mom. Ebowla might perform well and sweep the series; while Your Mom ought to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 1st-place Seefeldt the Glasscock will challenge 2nd-place Bad Newz Kennels (hcp 71). The Glasscock is predicted to roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Kennels are anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
