Spring 2006 Week 9 Robo-RecapThe ninth week of Spring 2006 saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (214) and series (502) for the women. As for the men, Carl Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 279, and high series was earned by John Richardson with a 643. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 21 & 22: I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! took turns kicking the ball return with Guttersluts. Blessed by Jason Carpio with his 557 series, the Belt celebrated a clean sweep over Guttersluts. Conversely, Travis Kleiner laid down the law in Guttersluts with his 363 despite his team getting swept. I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! remains in 1st place, while Guttersluts remain in 8th.

This was done rather often this week by people we wouldn't normally expect. On lanes 23 & 24: Sweeter Than Yoohoo hung out with Bora Bora. Though featuring Thomas Lin with his 566 series, Yoohoo accomplished only 1 win against Bora Bora. As for the opposition, trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) John Richardson showed off in Bora Bora with his stupendous 643 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Sweeter Than Yoohoo remains in 5th place, while Bora Bora remains in 4th.

On lanes 25 & 26: Tatonka waged a heated competition against Split Happens. Topped by Will Jeter with his above-average 487 series, Tatonka collected 3 wins against Split Happens. Concurrently, Ryan Doll took the lead in Split Happens with his above-average 508 despite his team notching only a single win. Tatonka remains in 7th place, while Split Happens sink 1 spot to 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Bowl Movement celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with Yo Mama. With the strength of Carl Goetz with his 593 series, Bowl Movement collected 3 wins against Yo Mama. On the other half of the score sheet, Andy Metzler mastered Yo Mama with his 515 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowl Movement leaps 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while Yo Mama remains in 6th.

Bowlers bribing their way into The 200 Club include: Andy Metzler (203), Carl Goetz (279), David Codding (210,220), Freda Schroeder (214), Jason Carpio (222), John Richardson (212,214,217), and Thomas Lin (212,215)

A new personal high game was set tonight by Carl Goetz (279, previous best 266). In addition, a new personal best series was rolled by Amanda Cox Jeter (387, previous best 376).

Freda Schroeder earned both this season's women's high game and series with her 214 and 502, respectively.

The 214 rolled by Freda Schroeder is tied for the 9th-best women's game in league history!
The 279 rolled by Carl Goetz is the new 2nd-best game in league history!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1 (though Jason Carpio came closest), while Dennis Laube made quick work of Division 2. John Richardson walloped Division 3, and Ben Lee staked a claim for the Iron Throne in Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket (though Jason Carpio and Stefan Miller (Division ) came closest). In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz governs Division 1; David Codding is in the driver's seat in Division 2; John Richardson leads Division 3; and Ryan Doll reigns over Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 21&22, 6th-place Yo Mama (hcp 7) will hang out with 3rd-place Split Happens. Yo Mama is expected to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Split Happens are forecast to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Moving to lanes 23&24, 2nd-place Bowl Movement will share a couple of pitchers with 7th-place Tatonka (hcp 220). Bowl Movement might roll a little low, yet still manage to win the series; while Tatonka ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Then, over on lanes 25&26, 1st-place I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! will chill with 5th-place Sweeter Than Yoohoo (hcp 26). The Belt will likely have a bit of an off night, yet still manage to win the series; while Yoohoo will probably drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.
  • Finally, on lanes 27&28, 8th-place Guttersluts (hcp 188) will battle 4th-place Bora Bora. Guttersluts are predicted to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Bora Bora is anticipated to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
