The fourteenth week of Fall 2004 saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Two bowlers set a new personal best series, and four rolled new personal high games. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (193) and series (541) for the women, while Pat Searcy earned this week's high game (269) and series (701) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Recreation Intoxication traded lane malfunctions with Bowlkake. Led by Pat Searcy with his remarkable 701 series, Recreation celebrated a clean sweep over Bowlkake. On the other side, Justin Strelow laid down the law in Bowlkake with his above-average 567 despite his team getting swept. Recreation Intoxication remains in 2nd place, while Bowlkake remains in 6th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Die Schlag-Maschinen couldn't stop inappropriately groping Real Ultimate Ninja Bowlers. Even though highlighted by the skills of Jerry Krall with his awe-inspiring 462 series, Die Schlag-Maschinen accomplished only 1 win against the Ninjas. Conversely, Dennis Laube drew the spotlight in the Ninjas with his 506 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Die Schlag-Maschinen remains in 8th place, while the Ninjas sink 1 spot to 4th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Ashley Razabacks did battle with Paul Hamms. With top billing by Rich DeYoung with his above-average 536 series, the Razabacks celebrated a clean sweep over the Hamms. Across the ball return, Bill Krejci called the shots for the Hamms with his (either injured, sick, or sandbagging) 461 despite his team getting swept. Ashley Razabacks leap 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while the Hamms remain in 7th.
Finally, down on lanes 25 & 26: The Belt Strikes Back shared a platter of cheese sticks with A Solid No. 2. Reinforced by trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Demond Robinson and his astounding 683 series, the Belt celebrated a clean sweep over No. 2. Countering this, Eric Lynch ruled No. 2 with his above-average 546 despite his team getting swept. The Belt Strikes Back remains in 1st place, while No. 2 remains in 5th.
Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (223), Demond Robinson (201,246,236), and Pat Searcy (253,269)

New personal high games were set tonight by Pat Searcy (269, previous best 246), Jerry Krall (198, previous best 180), Demond Robinson (246, previous best 228), and Andee Weinfurt (190, previous best 187). The 701 rolled by Pat Searcy is the new 3rd-best series in league history!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Demond Robinson vanquished Division 1, while Eric Lynch whipped Division 2. Andee Weinfurt claimed victory in Division 3, and Ray Haynes shut down Division 4. In terms of overall points: Dennis Laube dominates Division 1; Jason Carpio and Eric Lynch lead Division 2 in a tie; Janelle (Laube) Lamar is in the driver's seat in Division 3; and Ray Haynes calls the shots for Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 3rd-place Ashley Razabacks (hcp 66) will throw some gutter balls with 1st-place The Belt Strikes Back. The Razabacks are expected to perform well, yet still manage to get swept; while the Belt is forecast to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 5th-place A Solid No. 2 will spend some quality time with 7th-place Paul Hamms (hcp 50). No. 2 might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while the Hamms ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 8th-place Die Schlag-Maschinen (hcp 193) will chuck some balls with 6th-place Bowlkake. Die Schlag-Maschinen will likely roll decently, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Bowlkake will probably drop their average a bit even as they enjoy their victories.
- Finally, on lanes 25&26, 2nd-place Recreation Intoxication will hang out with 4th-place Real Ultimate Ninja Bowlers (hcp 81). Recreation is predicted to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while the Ninjas are anticipated to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
