Fall 2003 Week 11 Robo-RecapThe eleventh week of Fall 2003 saw two teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series. Andee Weinfurt picked up this week's high game (187) and series (453) for the women, while Thomas Lin earned this week's high game (237) and series (646) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Atomic Goo faced off against Bowlers of Mass Confusion. Though featuring Phil Schroeder with his 415 series, Atomic Goo got swept by Mass Confusion. Across the ball return, Corey Weinfurt guided Mass Confusion with his above-average 497 as they swept the competition. Atomic Goo plummets 2 spots in the standings to 6th place, while Mass Confusion remains in 2nd.

week11On lanes 17 & 18: Gutter Minds alternated splits with Theee Beeelt. Although topped by Pat Searcy with his 573 series, Gutter Minds got swept by Theee Beeelt. Concurrently, Nik Domann mastered Theee Beeelt with his below-average 422 as they swept the competition. Gutter Minds remains in 8th place, while Theee Beeelt moves 1 spot to 4th.

On lanes 19 & 20: Anchors Aweigh! kept grabbing the balls of Bowl me Ishmael!. Reinforced by Most Valuable Bowler Eric Lynch and his stunning 548 series, the Anchors split the series with Ishmael. On the other half of the score sheet, Michael Basham reigned supreme in Ishmael with his exceptional 463 as they matched their opponent in wins. Anchors Aweigh! remains in 1st place, while Ishmael remains in 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 21 & 22: Spare Change accepted a challenge by Wolverines. Despite the strength of Demond Robinson with his 518 series, Spare Change got swept by the Wolverines. Meanwhile, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Thomas Lin commanded the Wolverines with his dramatic 646 as they swept the competition. Spare Change remains in 7th place, while the Wolverines move 1 spot to 5th.

Bowlers paying far too much for well vodka at The 200 Club include: Pat Searcy (204) and Thomas Lin (227,237)

A new personal best series was rolled tonight by Thomas Lin (646, previous best 593).

The 237 rolled by Thomas Lin is tied for the 8th-best men's game in league history!
The 646 rolled by Thomas Lin is the new 3rd-best series in league history!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Eric Lynch ruled Division 1, while Thomas Lin triumphed over his enemies in Division 2. Nobody claimed victory in Division 3 (though Andee Weinfurt came closest), and Dennis Pruitt won Division 4. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz holds the reins in Division 1; Pat Searcy leads Division 2; Seth Gunderson reigns over Division 3; and Dennis Pruitt runs the show in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 15&16, 1st-place Anchors Aweigh! will match wits with 7th-place Spare Change (hcp 68). The Anchors are expected to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Spare Change is forecast to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 3rd-place Bowl me Ishmael! (hcp 76) will test their mettle against 5th-place Wolverines. Ishmael might perform well, yet still manage to get swept; while the Wolverines ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 6th-place Atomic Goo (estimated hcp 97) will face 8th-place Gutter Minds. Atomic Goo will likely have a bit of an off night and get swept; while Gutter Minds will probably hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Finally, on lanes 21&22, 2nd-place Bowlers of Mass Confusion will battle 4th-place Theee Beeelt (hcp 24). Mass Confusion is predicted to maintain their current strength as they and split the series with Theee Beeelt; while Theee Beeelt is anticipated to raise their average while they keep the series tied.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
