The fifth week of Fall 2003 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (211) and series (518) for the women. As for the men, Bill Krejci snagged this week's high game with a 224, and high series was earned by Pat Searcy with a 606. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Atomic Goo shared a few beers with Anchors Aweigh!. Despite the strength of Most Valuable Bowler Freda Schroeder and her splendid 434 series, Atomic Goo accomplished only 1 win against the Anchors. Concurrently, Carl Goetz shined in the Anchors with his above-average 564 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Atomic Goo remains in 8th place, while the Anchors remain in 1st.
On lanes 17 & 18: Wolverines faced off against Theee Beeelt. Blessed by Dennis Laube with his 452 series, the Wolverines collected 3 wins against Theee Beeelt. On the other half of the score sheet, Nik Domann oversaw Theee Beeelt with his above-average 500 despite his team notching only a single win. Wolverines remains in 2nd place, while Theee Beeelt sinks 1 spot to 6th.
On lanes 19 & 20: Bowlers of Mass Confusion spent some quality time with Bowl me Ishmael!. Showcasing Jason Carpio with his above-average 486 series, Mass Confusion collected 3 wins against Ishmael. On the flipside, Paul Linder mastered Ishmael with his 375 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowlers of Mass Confusion leaps 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Ishmael remains in 7th.
Finally, down on lanes 21 & 22: Spare Change entered a showdown to the death with Gutter Minds. Although topped by Bill Krejci with his powerful 568 series, Spare Change accomplished only 1 win against Gutter Minds. In the midst of this, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Pat Searcy laid down the law in Gutter Minds with his stupendous 606 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Spare Change drops 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while Gutter Minds move 1 spot to 3rd.

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz made quick work of Division 1, while Pat Searcy ruled Division 2. Nobody claimed victory in Division 3 (though Scott Murdock came closest), and Ginger O'Reilly got the better of Division 4. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz holds the reins in Division 1; Aaron Weidner dominates Division 2; Scott Murdock runs the show in Division 3; and Ginger O'Reilly leads Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 15&16, 3rd-place Gutter Minds will socialize with 5th-place Bowlers of Mass Confusion (hcp 44). Gutter Minds are expected to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Mass Confusion is forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Moving to lanes 17&18, 7th-place Bowl me Ishmael! (hcp 133) will compete against 4th-place Spare Change. Ishmael might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Spare Change ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
- Then, over on lanes 19&20, 2nd-place Wolverines (hcp 92) will hang out with 1st-place Anchors Aweigh!. The Wolverines will likely roll decently and win the series; while the Anchors will probably hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Finally, on lanes 21&22, 6th-place Theee Beeelt will challenge 8th-place Atomic Goo (hcp 42). Theee Beeelt is predicted to perform well and win the series; while Atomic Goo is anticipated to drop their average a bit while avoid getting swept.
