Nominee – Dennis "Pops" Laube

Dennis "Pops" Laube is a nominee for induction into the GutterAlley Hall of Fame during the Spring 2012 season. Laube joined the league in the Spring of 2002 and has not missed a season since, bringing his tally to 21 consecutive seasons and earning him the title of being the league's true Iron Man. In his career on the lanes, Pops has been crowned as a league champion five times – Fall 2001, Fall 2002, Fall 2006, Spring 2008, and Spring 2011.Over the last decade, he's been the week's #1 Power Ranked Bowler twelve times and the MVB seven times including one run as the league's Actual Most Valuable Bowler in the Spring 2008 session. Easily one of the most competitive bowlers in the league's history, Laube's name appears quite often across the recently released Top 25 lists. He currently holds the top spot on both the Most Prolific Bowlers as well as Most Games Won by a Bowler. His name also shows up on Most MVBs, Most MVB Runner-Ups, Bowlers by Win Percentage, Bowlers with the Most 200+ Games, Best Individual #1 Power Ranked Performances, and Bowlers Handing Out the Most Sweeps. Here are a few comments about Pops from those that nominated him:

This guy has had more coronary arteries bypassed than everyone on his team has titles, yet nothing stops him. He has bowled more seasons and more games since record keeping began than any other bowler. If someone were to be given the nickname of "The Ironman" in our league, surprisingly it would not go to someone named Wilson, Murdock, Bradford, Goetz or even Schroeder. It would go to Dennis "Pops" Laube.Year in and year out, Pops has been there. He's bowled more games in the league than anyone else, even coming back from major bypass surgery.Pops looks forward to bowling every week, and kicking some butt. Not only is he a great bowler, but he loves being around all the friends he's made over the years each and every week.861 games, 4 championships, 6 MVBs, the numbers speak for themselves. Extra words just aren't necessary. If he doesn't make the Hall of Fame, he'll probably get mad. Plus, if I recall the stats correctly, he's bowled more games than any other bowler in league history.

The GutterAlley Hall of Fame Screening Committee is proud to put Dennis up for enshrinement.
