Spring 2003 Week 6 Robo-RecapThe sixth week of Spring 2003 saw two teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Janelle (Laube) Lamar landed this week's high game for the women with a 170, and women's high series was bagged by Michelle Tollefson with a 460. As for the men, Steve Robinson snagged this week's high game with a 228, and high series was earned by Pat Searcy with a 577. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 17 & 18: Top Guns had a rendezvous with When Push Comes To Shove. Although blessed by Pat Searcy with his 577 series, Top Guns accomplished only 1 win against the Shovers. On the other half of the score sheet, David Codding called the shots for the Shovers with his 553 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Top Guns remains in 1st place, while the Shovers jump 2 spots to 5th.

week6On lanes 19 & 20: Bowlers of Mass Destruction kept stealing sips of beer from Spanked. Headlined by Corey Weinfurt with his 491 series, Mass Destruction collected 3 wins against Spanked. Simultaneously, Bill Krejci ruled Spanked with his above-average 520 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowlers of Mass Destruction drops 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while Spanked remains in 8th.

On lanes 21 & 22: Canned Crabs spent some quality time with D-Day. Despite being led by Eric Lynch with his 488 series, the Crabs got swept by D-Day. As for the opposition, Ken M. Wilson showed off in D-Day with his above-average 547 as they swept the competition. Canned Crabs drop 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while D-Day moves 1 spot to 2nd.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: The Good Sons kept grabbing the balls of Hulk Smash!. Featuring Steve Robinson with his breathtaking 499 series, and supported tremendously by real star — trifecta-winner #1 Power-Ranked, #1 Head-to-Head, and Most Valuable Bowler Michelle Tollefson, the Sons celebrated a clean sweep over the Hulk. While that was going down, Carl Goetz oversaw the Hulk with his 519 despite his team getting swept. The Good Sons remains in 4th place, while the Hulk sinks 1 spot to 6th.

Bowlers paying far too much for well vodka at The 200 Club include: Bill Krejci (203), Dennis Laube (201), Pat Searcy (218), and Steve Robinson (228)

A new personal high game was set tonight by Tracey Robertson (153, previous best 152).

The 228 rolled by Steve Robinson is the new 9th-best men's game in league history!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Pat Searcy dominated Division 1, while Ken M. Wilson trounced Division 2. Shannon Myers triumphed over her enemies in Division 3, and Michelle Tollefson routed Division 4. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz governs Division 1; Ken M. Wilson reigns over Division 2; Jason Carpio, Shannon Myers, and Phil Schroeder lead Division 3 in a tie; and Tracey Robertson tops Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 17&18, 7th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 60) will chuck some balls with 6th-place Hulk Smash!. The Crabs are expected to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the Hulk is forecast to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Moving to lanes 19&20, 4th-place The Good Sons (hcp 103) will test their mettle against 2nd-place D-Day. The Sons might perform well, but split the series with D-Day; while D-Day ought to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
  • Then, over on lanes 21&22, 3rd-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction (hcp 37) will socialize with 1st-place Top Guns. Mass Destruction will likely roll decently and sweep the series; while Top Guns will probably drop their average a bit while they endure a rough night.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 5th-place When Push Comes To Shove will roll against 8th-place Spanked (hcp 16). The Shovers are predicted to roll a little low, yet still manage to win the series; while Spanked is anticipated to drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
