The Fall 2004 position round is now history, and and the championship will be on us before we know it! The eighth week saw one team climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series. Andee Weinfurt picked up this week's high game (183) and series (464) for the women, while Ken M. Wilson earned this week's high game (235) and series (592) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Recreation Intoxication alternated between bowling and dry humping The Belt Strikes Back. Despite the strength of Bob Brunker with his above-average 550 series, Recreation accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. Countering this, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Nik Domann dominated the Belt with his above-average 565 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Recreation Intoxication drops 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while the Belt sinks 1 spot to 3rd.
On lanes 21 & 22: Real Ultimate Ninja Bowlers couldn't stop inappropriately groping Paul Hamms. Although blessed by Dennis Laube with his 492 series, the Ninjas accomplished only 1 win against the Hamms. Conversely, Bill Krejci took the lead in the Hamms with his 550 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Mark McClendon) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Real Ultimate Ninja Bowlers plummet 4 spots in the standings to 7th place, while the Hamms remain in 4th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Bowlkake had a delightful time with A Solid No. 2. Demonstrating the prowess of Ken M. Wilson with his above-average 592 series, Bowlkake split the series with No. 2. While that was going down, Corey Weinfurt reigned supreme in No. 2 with his above-average 559 as they matched their opponent in wins. Bowlkake remains in 5th place, while No. 2 remains in 6th.
Finally, down on lanes 25 & 26: Die Schlag-Maschinen had some one-on-one time with Ashley Razabacks. Regardless of the star power of Amanda Schulte with her above-average 374 series, Die Schlag-Maschinen accomplished only 1 win against the Razabacks. In the midst of this, Stefan Paz called the shots for the Razabacks with his 447 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Die Schlag-Maschinen drops 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while the Razabacks jump 7 spots to 1st.

A new personal best series was rolled tonight by Andee Weinfurt (464, previous best 463).
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Bob Brunker had his way with Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2 (though Jason Carpio came closest). Kris Hiestand eradicated Division 3, and Ray Haynes crushed Division 4. In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy is in the driver's seat in Division 1; Nik Domann calls the shots for Division 2; Mike Killion runs the show in Division 3; and Ray Haynes tops Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 4th-place Paul Hamms will socialize with 8th-place Die Schlag-Maschinen (hcp 64). The Hamms are expected to maintain their current strength as they and split the series with Die Schlag-Maschinen; while Die Schlag-Maschinen is forecast to raise their average while they keep the series tied.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 7th-place Real Ultimate Ninja Bowlers (hcp 8) will compete against 1st-place Ashley Razabacks. The Ninjas might perform well and win the series; while the Razabacks ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 6th-place A Solid No. 2 (hcp 28) will meet with 2nd-place Recreation Intoxication. No. 2 will likely maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Recreation will probably hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Finally, on lanes 25&26, 5th-place Bowlkake will battle 3rd-place The Belt Strikes Back (hcp 14). Bowlkake is predicted to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Belt is anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
