The tenth week of Fall 2004 saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (202) and series (514) for the women. As for the men, Nik Domann snagged this week's high game with a 235, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 616. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: The Belt Strikes Back entered a showdown to the death with Recreation Intoxication. Topped by Nik Domann with his above-average 559 series, the Belt collected 3 wins against Recreation . On the adjacent lane, Pat Searcy shined in Recreation with his 541 despite his team notching only a single win. The Belt Strikes Back leaps 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while Recreation sinks 1 spot to 5th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Bowlkake chucked gutter balls with A Solid No. 2. Though featuring Carl Goetz with his 616 series, Bowlkake accomplished only 1 win against No. 2. Meanwhile, Corey Weinfurt laid down the law in No. 2 with his 528 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Eric Lynch) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Bowlkake drops 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while No. 2 moves 1 spot to 4th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Paul Hamms couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Real Ultimate Ninja Bowlers. With the strength of #1 Power-Ranked Mark McClendon and his thrilling 555 series, the Hamms split the series with the Ninjas. As for the opposition, #1 Head-to-Head Dennis Laube drew the spotlight in the Ninjas with his above-average 544 as they matched their opponent in wins. Paul Hamms drop 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while the Ninjas move 1 spot to 6th.
Finally, down on lanes 25 & 26: Die Schlag-Maschinen accepted a challenge by Ashley Razabacks. Notwithstanding the leadership of Jerry Krall with his 396 series, Die Schlag-Maschinen accomplished only 1 win against the Razabacks. On the flipside, Stefan Paz called the shots for the Razabacks with his above-average 517 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Die Schlag-Maschinen remains in 8th place, while the Razabacks remain in 1st.
Bowlers who stripped naked and shared a cozy hottub together in a back room at The 200 Club include: Angela Bradford (202), Carl Goetz (210,214), Mark McClendon (218,201), Nik Domann (235), and Pat Searcy (226)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Dennis Laube routed Division 1, while Eric Lynch crushed Division 2. Nobody claimed victory in Division 3 (though Amanda Schulte came closest), and nobody claimed victory in Division 4, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about Division 4 as it was a complete embarassment. In terms of overall points: Dennis Laube is in the driver's seat in Division 1; Jason Carpio runs the show in Division 2; Janelle (Laube) Lamar dominates Division 3; and Ray Haynes tops Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 6th-place Real Ultimate Ninja Bowlers (hcp 63) will compete against 4th-place A Solid No. 2. The Ninjas are expected to perform well and win the series; while No. 2 is forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 2nd-place The Belt Strikes Back will spend some quality time with 8th-place Die Schlag-Maschinen (hcp 136). The Belt might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Die Schlag-Maschinen ought to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 7th-place Bowlkake will test their mettle against 1st-place Ashley Razabacks (hcp 139). Bowlkake will likely maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while the Razabacks will probably hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Finally, on lanes 25&26, 3rd-place Paul Hamms (hcp 72) will challenge 5th-place Recreation Intoxication. The Hamms are predicted to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Recreation is anticipated to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
