Spring 2010 Week 1 Robo-RecapThe Spring 2010 season is now underway, with eight teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. One bowler set a new personal best series. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (198) and series (538) for the women. As for the men, Ken M. Wilson snagged this week's high game with a 224, and high series was earned by Mitch Kempker with a 616. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 25 & 26: Empire Strikes Back traded lane malfunctions with 3 Pin Moon. Though featuring Ken M. Wilson with his 586 series, the Empire accomplished only 1 win against 3 Pin Moon. On the flipside, Ryan Doll drew the spotlight in 3 Pin Moon with his 589 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Empire Strikes Back begins with 6th place, while 3 Pin Moon gets going with 1st.

week1On lanes 27 & 28: No Pinheads kept stealing sips of beer from Scoot Gave Us The Schlitz. Showcasing Aubrey Moren with his 549 series, the Pinheads split the series with the Schlitz. Meanwhile, Angela Bradford reigned supreme in the Schlitz with her 538 as they matched their opponent in wins. No Pinheads begins the season in 4th place, while the Schlitz starts off with 5th.

On lanes 29 & 30: Bowlumpkin kept grabbing the balls of Little Lebowski Urban Achievers. In spite of top-billing by Rich Foster with his astounding 519 series, Bowlumpkin accomplished only 1 win against the Urban Achievers. Conversely, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Mitch Kempker mastered the Urban Achievers with his 616 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Bowlumpkin gets underway in 7th place, while the Urban Achievers commence the season with 2nd.

Finally, down on lanes 31 & 32: Lil' Devils couldn't stop inappropriately groping The Prak Attack. Demonstrating the prowess of Janelle (Laube) Lamar with her 390 series, Lil' Devils collected 3 wins against the Attack. Concurrently, Joe Longstreet showed off in the Attack with his 365 despite his team notching only a single win. Lil' Devils leaves the gate in 3rd place, while the Attack begins in 8th.

Bowlers sneaking into The 200 Club include: Aubrey Moren (219), Carl Goetz (211), Ken M. Wilson (224), Mitch Kempker (218,220), Rich Foster (200), Rob Kaszuba (212,200), and Ryan Doll (222)

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 25&26, 2nd-place Little Lebowski Urban Achievers will chill with 8th-place The Prak Attack (estimated hcp 83). The Urban Achievers are expected to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while the Attack is forecast to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Moving to lanes 27&28, 7th-place Bowlumpkin (hcp 9) will meet with 3rd-place Lil' Devils. Bowlumpkin might maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Lil' Devils ought to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 29&30, 1st-place 3 Pin Moon will throw some gutter balls with 5th-place Scoot Gave Us The Schlitz (estimated hcp 54). 3 Pin Moon will likely have a bit of an off night and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Schlitz will probably hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Finally, on lanes 31&32, 6th-place Empire Strikes Back will roll against 4th-place No Pinheads (hcp 25). The Empire is predicted to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while the Pinheads are anticipated to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
