Fall 2005 Week 16 Robo-RecapThe Fall 2005 season draws to a close, with Same Belt, New Notch officially earning this season's championship title! A stagnated final week resulted in absolutely no movement in the standings. One bowler set a new personal best series. Janelle (Laube) Lamar landed this week's high game for the women with a 169, and women's high series was bagged by Freda Schroeder with a 436. As for the men, Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (235) and series (668). Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 21 & 22: Same Belt, New Notch sparred with Bora Bora!. Led by trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Carl Goetz and his splendid 668 series, the Belt collected 3 wins against Bora Bora!. In the meantime, John Richardson ruled Bora Bora! with his stupendous 531 despite his team notching only a single win. Same Belt, New Notch close out in 1st place, while Bora Bora! come out in 2nd.

week16On lanes 23 & 24: Tatonka had some one-on-one time with Three Men and a Babe. Although blessed by Will Jeter with his above-average 501 series, Tatonka accomplished only 1 win against Three Men and a Babe. On the flipside, David Codding shined in Three Men and a Babe with his 575 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Tatonka finish in 3rd place, while Three Men and a Babe cross the finish line in 4th.

On lanes 25 & 26: Derka, Derka chucked gutter balls with The Big LeBowlskies. Topped by Thomas Lin with his dazzling 617 series, Derka, Derka collected 3 wins against The Big LeBowlskies. Concurrently, Michael Basham commanded The Big LeBowlskies with his commanding 584 despite his team notching only a single win. Derka, Derka end in 5th place, while The Big LeBowlskies end up with 6th.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Harry Potter and the Magic Balls had a rendezvous with Munson'd. With Harry Potter forfeiting, all Munson'd needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. However, that would not be the case. . But Munson'd also forfeited, making this entire matchup a waste of time to have written about. Harry Potter and the Magic Balls complete in 7th place, while Munson'd wind up in 8th.

Bowlers ducking past the bouncer at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (232,235,201), David Codding (222), Demond Robinson (206), Jason Carpio (211), Ken M. Wilson (213), Michael Basham (209), Thomas Lin (208,220), and Will Jeter (226)

A new personal best series was rolled tonight by Michael Basham (584, previous best 566).

The 668 rolled by Carl Goetz is tied for the 8th-best series in league history!

After a hard fought season, the Tournament of Champions was won tonight by Andrea DeLong (Division 4), with John Richardson (Division 4) landing in second place. Andrea will pocket the nice first-place pot, while John will take away the second-place pot. Congratulations!

Posted by BowlingBot On December - 13 - 2005ADD COMMENTS

Fall 2005 Week 15 Robo-RecapThe fifteenth week of Fall 2005 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (189) and series (513) for the women. As for the men, Demond Robinson snagged this week's high game with a 246, and high series was earned by John Richardson with a 630. Meanwhile, Tournament of Champions is officially down to its final eight bowlers, who will face each other next week competing for two cash prizes! Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 21 & 22: Harry Potter and the Magic Balls accepted a challenge by Three Men and a Babe. Regardless of the star power of Andy Metzler with his above-average 506 series, Harry Potter accomplished only 1 win against Three Men and a Babe. On the adjacent lane, David Codding mastered Three Men and a Babe with his 584 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Harry Potter and the Magic Balls remains in 7th place, while Three Men and a Babe moves 1 spot to 4th.

week15On lanes 23 & 24: Tatonka did battle with The Big LeBowlskies. Topped by Will Jeter with his above-average 490 series, Tatonka collected 3 wins against The Big LeBowlskies. Across the ball return, Michael Basham drew the spotlight in The Big LeBowlskies with his 492 despite his team notching only a single win. Tatonka drops 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while The Big LeBowlskies remain in 6th.

On lanes 25 & 26: Derka, Derka sparred with Same Belt, New Notch. Despite the strength of Rich DeYoung with his 529 series, Derka, Derka accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. On the other side, Demond Robinson took the lead in the Belt with his marvelous 614 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Scott Murdock) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Derka, Derka drops 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while the Belt remains in 1st.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Bora Bora! had some one-on-one time with Munson'd. Headlined by #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head John Richardson and his astonishing 630 series, Bora Bora! celebrated a clean sweep over Munson'd. Simultaneously, Thomas Fowler reigned supreme in Munson'd with his (either injured, sick, or sandbagging) 218 despite his team getting swept. Bora Bora! leaps 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while Munson'd remains in 8th.

Bowlers getting the VIP treatment in The 200 Club include: David Codding (212,201), Demond Robinson (246,208), John Richardson (224,221), Michael Basham (203), and Phil Schroeder (204)

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Rich DeYoung claimed victory in Division 1, while Scott Murdock cleaned up Division 2. Phil Schroeder creamed Division 3, and Andy McLeod vanquished Division 4. Congratulations to our division champions! The following eight people will compete next week for the big prize!

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 21&22, 1st-place Same Belt, New Notch will spend some quality time with 2nd-place Bora Bora! (hcp 88). The Belt is expected to see a pretty significant "market correction" to their averages as they get swept; while Bora Bora! is forecast to see their team average take a dive even though they rack up a sweep.
  • Moving to lanes 23&24, 3rd-place Tatonka (hcp 104) will face 4th-place Three Men and a Babe. Tatonka might have their averages plummet, yet still manage to sweep the series; while Three Men and a Babe ought to see their team average take a dive while they endure a rough night.
  • Then, over on lanes 25&26, 5th-place Derka, Derka will roll against 6th-place The Big LeBowlskies (hcp 2). Derka, Derka will likely watch their averages take a plunge, yet still manage to sweep the series; while The Big LeBowlskies will probably see their team average take a dive while they endure a rough night.
  • Finally, on lanes 27&28, 7th-place Harry Potter and the Magic Balls will share a couple of pitchers with 8th-place Munson'd (hcp 53). Harry Potter is predicted to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while Munson'd is anticipated to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)

Although topped by #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Freda Schroeder and her remarkable 588 series, Bora Bora! accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. Concurrently, Carl Goetz shined in the Belt with his above-average 585 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Scott Murdock) as his team took the series with 3 wins.
