Break Out The Scissors!

Posted by ScooterJ October 10, 2017 Fall 2017, Week 8 View Score Sheets

It's been a while since we've had to cut the scoresheets in half due to a printing error. But it's also been a while since we've had 10 teams and week 8 wasn't the position round. So how did everything shake out after tonight's massive cut-and-paste job?

First up, on lanes 1 & 2: Less Terra Bowl had a rendezvous with The Alt-Left. Led by Matthew Taylor and his 528 series, Less Terra Bowl split the series with The Alt-Left. Meanwhile, Lefty John Boren and his 494 series (including a left-handed 197, the bastard, The Alt-Left ended in a stalemate. Less Terra Bowl remains in 5th place, while The Alt-Left drops 1 spot to 3rd.

On lanes 3 & 4: Roll, Drink, Repeat couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of JG's Rusty Nuts. Apparently the image of a nude Varnell worked well for Sean Simmons, as he rolled a 586 series to be this week's Most Valuable Bowler as well as leading Roll, Drink, Repeat in a a clean sweep over JG's Rusty Nuts. (He was also assisted by Chantal Jacot, who rolled a new personal best series of 388.) Meanwhile, led by Josh Rothermel and his 382 series, JG's Rusty Nuts got swept. Roll, Drink, Repeat climbs 2 spots in the standings to 8th place, while JG's Rusty Nuts drops 1 spot to 9th.

On lanes 5 & 6: Split It & Hit It exchanged nervous glances with NotContra. Led by Dennis Blake and his 513 series, Split It & Hit It got swept by NotContra. Meanwhile, led by Aaron Barber and his 605 series, but very much assisted by #1 Power Ranked Bowler Nick Kinney, NotContra secured a clean sweep. Split It & Hit It drops 1 spot in the standings to 10th place, while NotContra moves up 1 spot to 2nd.

Did you or your employer recently donate to a resident event? If so, Scoot has your thank-you card if you want it.

On lanes 7 & 8: Brooklyn Strikers sat down for crumpets and tea with Holy Sandbaggers, Batman!. Despite sub Doug Bonney's team-leading 449 series, Brooklyn Strikers got swept by Holy Sandbaggers, Batman!. On the other side of the matchup, Dennis Laube and his 563 series took Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! to a clean sweep. Brooklyn Strikers drops 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! remains in 1st.

Finally, down on lanes 9 & 10: Bowl Yer Ballz Off shared a few beers with Mustache Cash Stash while also ending their quest to make it through the entire season without being the last team to finish bowling. Led by Rob Kaszuba and his 471 series, Bowl Yer Ballz Off shaved 3 wins off Mustache Cash Stash. Meanwhile, led by Dennis Walling and his 540 series, Mustache Cash Stash could only manage 1 win. Bowl Yer Ballz Off climbs 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while Mustache Cash Stash remains in 4th.

With Halloween coming up, we'd like to remind everyone with young children of the mystical powers of pre-bowling. Failing to pre-bowl is far more terrifying than any spooky ghost!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Aaron Barber crushed Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2 (though Jonathan Vigliaturo came closest). Lefty John Boren eradicated Division 3, and Chantal Jacot shut down Division 4. Finally, Nick Kinney (Division 2) trounced this week's Interdivisional bracket. In terms of overall points: Aaron Barber runs the show in Division 1; Jason Carpio calls the shots Division 2; Freda Schroeder dominates Division 3; and Conrad Bonney and Chantal Jacot reign over Division 4 in a tie.

Bowlers entering The 200 Club include: Aaron Barber (223), Dennis Blake (219), Dennis Laube (225), Jonathan Vigliaturo (207), Matthew Taylor (201), Nick Kinney (215), Sean Simmons (218), and Seth Gunderson (217)

"Are yours guys's balls ok? Do any of you have ball damage?"

Unnamed AMF employee, after a few members of Less Terra Bowl and The Alt-Left had their balls crushed in some sort of mechanical mishap.
