Is the Championship In the Cards?

Posted by ScooterJ March 15, 2016 Spring 2016, Week 7 View Score Sheets

With the midseason position round coming up next week already, one team already seems destined for the championship. Fallop Ian began the season in first place and, despite a few challengers, has yet to relinquish that spot. Will the position round bring about an end to their streak? We'll find out next week.

Back in the realm of tonight, on lanes 41 & 42: Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! had the holy mission of snipping Fallop Ian's dominance of the league. Despite Aubrey Moren's 586 series, the Holy Sandbaggers managed only 1 win. Meanwhile, led by John Boren and his 594 series, Fallop Ian -- and aided by a miraculous MVB performance by Carl Goetz (in spite of his first game!) -- secured 3 wins. Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! drops 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while Fallop Ian remains in 1st.

Over lanes 43 & 44: Glory Bowl spent a romantic evening in adjacent stalls with 404: Team Name Not Found. Led by Andrew Finger and his 537 series, Glory Bowl (who had all 4 bowlers present for the first time all season!) split the series with 404: Team Name Not Found. Sean Miller led 404 with his 538 series and a #1 power ranked performance. The encounter ended in mutual pleasure for all involved parties. Glory Bowl remains in 5th place, while 404: Team Name Not Found remains in 4th.

For those who didn't see the new cards tonight or aren't rolling this season -- our new poker cards feature championship teams on the back. On the faces, the entire current league, all Hall of Fame bowlers, and several past bowlers. Hope you like them!

This week AMF Pro Bowl's official suspended animation modules were installed at lanes 45 & 46, where Split Sisters and Bowies In Space froze themselves to conserve vital resources until the end of their match. Split Sisters was led by Michelle Shoemaker, with her 412 series, while the Bowies were dominated by Michael Mead's 532 series. Despite the efforts of both sides to outlive the other, the match ended in a draw. Bowies In Space climes 1 spot to 2nd place, while Split Sisters remain in 8th.

Finally, down against the wall, Bowlgasmic and Split It & Hit It fought an epic but overall pointless battle since neither team had any chance of moving in the standings. :) As is usually the case, an exasperated Kody Karnes led Bowlgasmic with a 663 series, but could only manage one win. Dennis Blake led Split It to 3 wins with his 566 series. Bowlgasmic remains in 7th place, and Split It & Hit It remains in 6th.
This week in Tournament of Champions, John Boren won Division 1 and moved into 2nd place. Division 2 was topped by Bob Brunker, though he didn't quite place just yet. Sean Simmons cleaned up Division 3 to move into 1st place there, and Zach Cross conquered Division 4 and moved into 2nd place.Bowlers shuffling themselves into The 200 Club this week include: Andrew Finger (204), Aubrey Moren (237), Carl Goetz (222,214), Dennis Blake (215,209), John Boren (227), Kody Karnes (247,224), Russell Bingham (201), Sean Miller (206), and Seth Gunderson (225)Remember, no new subs may be used next week.
